First, you need to verify the correct map version your car requires...and you can do that by going into iDrive to see what version of the nav maps you have. It will probably be the PREMIUM maps (not the NBT/NEXT/or NBT EVO). Once you get the correct map files and a FSC code then you upload them the same way as mentioned in this thread using the USB thumb drive in the data USB port. If you don’t know where this is...then refer back to your owners manual...it will give the location of the data USB port vs one that is for music sharing.

Not having much luck. It's prompting for loads of individual zip file with folders mixed and split up. Some zip files were missing as well. I tried to go in and manually download the files but still no luck. It would split files from the same folders into different duplicate folders.

Google drive is messing with the way I original had it uploaded. I'll upload 2 ZIP files instead. Takes forever though

What browser were you using? I tested the single file downloads & those were normal. I use the new Microsoft Edge with Chromium

It's all listed in the first post. It's up to you on how you want to do it. Some prefer to just buy the code and not deal with installing software, etc.

With that said, I purchased my lifetime code for like $15. I won't plug the site so I don't violate any rules, but there are several options for that. The hardest part was entering it into the iDrive with the scroll wheel.

Hi, When I try this, using the info the structure of the USB drive provided before - I get an error saying: please connect the USB device 1 to start the update.
Any ideas?

Hello all.. I've been all over the place and trying to get some clarification.. I'm attempting to update my nav map files.. I believe I have all the software but obviously need this FSC code.. In the instructions on the first page it is saying you need to launch E-SYS launcher, however in all the reading I have, the existing E-SYS Launcher Pro EST file expired but I'm reading other posts where this is not needed to generate a FSC file.. Does anyone have instructions or can clarify if I can generate a FSC file without needed an updated EST file for the launcher?

I used a company to generate mine because my car laptop is a pile of crap. It was like $15 for a lifetime code iirc.

A couple installation notes, trouble shooting, etc. this was done on an F15

For E-sys you don’t need it to be activated with a token, that’s only used for coding, to generate the FCS file I just used E-sys, NOT E-sys Launcher like the first post says, this worked for me.

You must use the provide software to format the drive as FAT32, exFAT32 does not work.

I tried to move the zip file in to the FAT32 formatted 128gb stick and had an error ‘file too large’ So had to unzip the files first and then move them over.

During the update the car would go into sleep mode and the update would stop, so I ran the engine for 45min-1hr for the update to complete,
I suspect you can drive around while its updating, but you just can’t use the navi

Hey first I thank you for all the hard work and the input it's really great. So I have followed all the steps and went through the discussions before I post this. But i'm sure I have misunderstood or missed something please help.
-Using a MAC I have downloaded both zip files part 1 and 2 with safari web browser, from there I unzipped them before adding to the formatted FAT32 USB 3.0 key.
-Cleared folders like mentioned and had exact same folders as in the picture
-Plugged USB KEY in my F31 while engine running and nothing pups up, also tried in navigation mode still nothing.
I tried several times and hopeless LOL.
