Funny story...the environmentalists that infest the area are so green and environmental and sustainable and stuff that they brought in a goat herder and several hundred goats to Laguna Beach as part of a brush clearance program, removing fuel and creating a defensible space for effective fire management. Our drought has made the usual wildfire season a year-round event. Yay us.

So these goats, they literally go to town in a major way, not only on the vegetation, but a parade of goats downtown. Year after year, they do their stuff and were a local curiosity of sorts, until someone discovered that these gentle and useful beasts were trampling the fuck out of some ground nesting birds. Ooops. Environmental impact study filed? Uhhhh...nope. No more goats
