Thanks Uncle Wede!

More often than plain calcium, I use a calcium/magnesium/zinc tablet.

I agree, the micro-nutrients are very important. That's why Onslow (my mongrel) gets a raw chicken wing every morning. Eating some real bone & raw meat is even better than a multi-vit!

I heard eating a banana a day works too. I think it has magnesium in it.

Potassium?
Which is one of the 'big three' for muscles.

Far more potassium than magnesium in bananas, but still some there.

RAW chicken. OK. I almost had a fit. . .

I'm guessing that leaves taurine if memory serves me correctly....although it's been known not to at times!

See...that proves the memory part. Taurine was part of the combo with magnesium and potassium that I used to take when I was a serous"gym rat".

Yep. Plus I was confused. Guess I should have read everything.

The combo I used was for promoting optimal muscle "contraction" .....not cramping!

And/or the corollary: not cramping so you can contract.

Hello BMW Experts!

After giving blood, I got this email from the blood center.
As Duane Allman sang, "It's a Mean Old World", but some things make you feel good:

"Dear Elizabeth,
Unforgettable moments are forged in vulnerable times like now. In these unprecedented times, when coronavirus has the entire world on guard, you put fear aside and the needs of others above your own. Thank you for donating during this critical period when our blood supplies are in jeopardy and patients' treatments are at risk.

That is what heroes do!
We appreciate you as a donor and are proud to call you a lifesaver!"

I want to make clear, I don't consider my wife & especially me, to be 'Heroes' of any sort for just giving blood; do we need it or something?

But this is a "bump to the top"

Murf

Agreed. Potassium deficiency does lead to leg cramps.

Just donated last week. For some reason Red Cross canceled my first appointment originally scheduled for April. This one needed to be scheduled 6 weeks later for whole blood. It seems like they needed platelets a whole lot more than whole blood.

Very glad to hear it!
I think what they want from you varies by place, time, & blood type.
I asked what they wanted, & they took "double reds" this time.

I had another pleasant rest at the Blood Center yesterday.
They hit me up for some "Double Reds" again!

"Don't hurt me! Don't miss my vein!..."

Am all for it and would if I could but because of my international travel and going to Malaria regions they won't allow it. Strange to me that this is in place for a year after my travels so best case is early February. I can't get them to take my name off the list so I continue to get calls and continue to tell them they won't let me.
