Resurrection w great, felt sorry for the alien she killed...how could she?! Look at those loving eyes! Ripley betrayed it and the look it gave her before dying, like 'how could you?! I'm your kid...'. She could've trained it to be a good alien. "NO, put that human down! No killing for today!!!"

yeah it was on Fox like 10-ish years ago

I think it only lasted 2 seasons

it ignored Terminator 3 and was a sequel to the 2nd film (in a way)

Summer Glau was a Terminator in the show named Cameron who was teenage John Connor's protector. Lena Headey was Sarah Connor.

This. TBH the alien franchise has held up best if you're a bit of a nerd. 3 and resurrection got a bit weird but i liked Promethius and Covenant.
I like the Alien franchise as well.

We watched A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night on Saturday. A very good flick, especially considering the budget.

I love Prometheus. Probably Top 10 fav movie for me, I actually like it more than any of the Alien films.

Sort of like Drive + Bourne.

I started binge watching all of the Star Trek movies.

Started with the Directors Cut of The Motion Picture, now up to Generations. Going to continue it to the Picard-era films, then the Kelvin-era new ones.

Ok, apologies in advance for David Cronenberg fans, but man....I tried to watch Crimes of the Future but it's the same artsy, weird, grotesque stuff he's been doing all his career, I don't get it and why he seems to have lots of fans liking that stuff. I think maybe The Fly was the only thing I saw of his that I liked. Throw David Lynch w him as well, just too weird and nonsensical for me. I couldn't last 15 mins.

My top three:
  • ST2 Wrath of Khan
  • Generations
  • First Contact

Of the new gen, they're not quite the same deal, still great imo.
Chris Pine does a good Kirk.

Agree.
Cronenberg's less odd films are quite good.
Big fan of History of Violence and Eastern Promises.
Especially Eastern Promises.

He was involved in those 2? Ok, I take it back, 3 movies I liked of his, esp those 2, really, really good.

Always loved wrath of khan. All the old Star Trek movies were good though. Search for Spock was also top notch.

The one outlier was Star Trek five. The previews made it look like the greatest movie of all time. Actually watching it was so disappointing.

The first one with Chris Pine, Star Trek 2009, is surprising just how good that came out.

It was made at the time of an industry writers strike. They had to film the films how they were written, no writer edits etc.

This movie tried too hard to be Bourne and Jack Ryan. The drone footages, acting, dialogue, etc. were all cringeworthy at times. The little girl was a food actress though. I don’t see Ryan Gosling as an action movie star. I don’t know, the whole thing was meh for me.
