640i GT wheel options X3??
I'm looking for a 19" set of winter wheels for a 2018 640i GT Xdrive. Currently has staggered 20" setup. I am wondering if anyone has tried a set of 19" X3 wheels. Pattern is the same offset is close, they are narrower at 7.5" I think, but for winter might be ok. Anyone tried any other BMW model wheels? 5 series?

So I just looked at a set of staggered OEM 19" style 792 wheels from a 2020 330I. They are 8" fronts and 8.5" rears, offsets are fine, center bore the same, bolt pattern 5 x 112. They should work? On one site it shows them as compatible for 3 and 4 series only. For winters, with narrower tires I can't see why these wouldn't work. The 20" OEM summers are 10" wide in back, but it shows 245/45/19 all around for winters in some places. Am I missing something?

If the G20 wheels are the same offset as the 19" 647M, no reason for them not to fit. I'd install the 245/4r19 tyres all round as the .5" difference on the rear won't make any difference to the fitment. |

Thanks for the response. That was my exact plan, to install 245/45/19 on the staggered rims all the way around for a square set up. When I search the 647M wheels I quickly found this link. It still shows the wheels as staggered, with the fronts being 8.5", offset ET 25 and the rears being 9.5" offset ET 39. If your wheels are square as well as the tires, I wonder which offset they use? The link for the staggered wheels shows them as fitting the G32 and the G11 7 series, as we would expect.
I found this great wheel offset calculator tool: https://alloywheelshop.com/pages/offset-calculator There I can enter the different wheel sizes and offsets and see the difference in positioning. With the narrower, but still staggered, G20 wheels I can see that the fronts are 4.5 mm narrower on the outside, and 8.5 mm narrower on the inside. The rears being a bigger difference are 13.5 mm narrower on the outside, and 11.5 mm narrower on the inside. This seems acceptable to me. I might be willing to try them. |
