What is it that you really want or need to know? There's no way you could believe that no one has never changed their own oil...especially on an enthusiast forum like this...and with the engine being out on the market since 2013 (actually mid 2012) and some of them no longer under the manufacturer's warranty.

I have built my own hot rods, change oil on my new C7 Corvette, but the 650 oil filter has to be purchased at the dealer, just can't get one at Autozone (at least thats what I've been told) and it takes a special o-ring. So I just take it to the dealer and get a loaner for the day and I usually get a discount coupon from the dealership. I like to work on cars, but its less hassle to have the dealer do it on this car

The BMW oil filter is very easy to order online at Amazon.com for one.

Sorry if you thought I was giving you a lecture...I was just asking for more info because your original post was vague as to what you wanted. I didn't want to post a DIY on a complete oil change if your question was only about what type of oil, or where do you buy oil filters from, or what is the extra smaller O-ring for that comes in the plastic baggy with the larger O-ring and copper crush washer.

If you want to know how to change the oil...you can find videos and DIYs that would work in your case from any generational BMW with the n63TU...which would be the f10/f11 5 series, f06/f12/f12 6 series, f01/f02 7 series, and f15/f16 X5 series. A quick youtube search turns up this pretty good video of an f10 550i owner...and he also shows how to do the reset of the CBS (condition based service) warning in the instrument cluster.

As soon as I am out of the warranty I do all my inspections, oil changes, brake pad and disc changes and others by myself. Although I have a very good dealer but for things I know how to do I do myself. Than I am 100% sure it’s done properly and I save some money
