Chicago hotel recommendations?
As the title states, we’ll most likely be needing a room for this coming Saturday night in the Windy City. Going to a birthday party for very distant relatives and don’t feel like going. However, if we don’t go, I’m the bad guy as I would rather spend the weekend shining UncleWede’s beautiful head but it is what it is. Therefore for you Chicago locals, please recommend a hotel in an area where crime is mostly a non factor.
If it means paying $300/night for a room, so be it. Don’t mind if it’s valet, taking the CTS so don’t care if a 18 year old zit face is behind the wheel for a few minutes. Been to the Chicago area once but that was back in 2015 for a few days and it was near the Naval base and never got to see the city. Plan is to do some sightseeing driving around Sunday morning and then head back to Indiana.

Well, if Chauvin gets anything less than life, there will be civil unrest nationwide which in turn will give me the perfect excuse to stay home. Trust me, don’t want to go!

That would be a wise choice.

I was going to recommend the Sheraton on North Water Street right at the River, but it appears to be closed. Too bad, that was a nice place. Maybe they're refurbishing it?

I have stayed at the Millenium Knickerbocker. Nice hotel, good location for the hot spots. Shows about $98/night which is WAYYYY less than what I paid back in 2010. If I remember correctly, its attached to a mall too right near Navy Pier.
I think I stayed at the Intercontinental Magnificent Mile also. |

The Kimpton hotels here are really nice, and close to most of the stuff you'd want to see. I'd maybe avoid there Gray, as it's closer to the business area, but the Monaco is in a great spot.

IMHO the Peninsula is on of the best hotels in Chicago if not the country. Love staying here.

We always stay at London House. Good rooms, views and location. The rooftop bar is nice but very crowded afternoon/night (pre-covid).
Park at millenniumgarages grant park. |
