Has anyone went from NBT Evo id4 to id6?

Like the title says, has anyone went from NBT Evo id4 to id6? I'm pretty sure 2016 6 series already has the touch pad controller and high res screen. So I thought maybe just the head unit could be changed? Did the button arrangement change on the touch pad controller since 2016? I was hoping that the screen and touchpad could be reused and change just the headunit which would drastically reduce the cost to switch to id6.

Should be a simple swap of the headunit since most everything else is the same. I would recommend getting in touch with Bimmer Retrofit. I got my kit from them. The will be able to advise you.

Exactly the same info I’m waiting for. I came up with different answers. Some say just get a headunit and have it coded and others say change it all but that’s $$$.

I heard that if you will go to id6 with touchpad your head up display might not work properly.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you and what exactly did you have to change? What year was your car and what version idrive did you upgrade from?

However, going from a 2016 nbt evo id4 to nbt evo id6 from what I hear is a lot easier. I'll have to contact BimmerTech to findout and hopefully it would be just a headunit.

Yep, was quite involved because of the communication lines changing, and also the most optical network being partially retired. However, since you have NBT EVO already yours might we'll be a simple headunit swap :-) keep us updated on your progress.
