yeah, it's PITA to change the grills. When I installed mine, I enlisted kong24680 to lose his skin for me...

I hope kong24680 will be around when I'm ready to sell the car and return it to stock.

such a simple but massive upgrade

i lost a little piece of meat when i was pulling the old grill by tugging on the slats, and one of them broke. left a permanent mark...and it was worth it

a little chunk, yeah. more than skin, but not a fingertip. it was gross, freaked out and clipped off the mofo with nail clippers and it bled for days.

i firmly held the slats and tugged/pulled as everyone said upon releasing tabs, and when the one slat broke, my fingers all scrapped against the adjacent slats as i fell backwards

neighbors reported a screaming girl, but i don't remember that

It's held in with double sided tape and 2 very fragile clips on either end... start with a very thin pry tool in the middle and slowly work your way towards the back of the car, that's where the big clip is, then slowly work your way to the front clip which is tiny and very fragile (I broke the one on the drivers side).

I reheated the double sided tape when reinstalling and its been on with no issues at 160+(In mexico of course).

When I bought the F12 my wife found a little 4 series that matched pretty close for my 8 month old. It's remote controlled and when she gets older she can control it inside. Also has an Aux input and lights up and makes engine sounds... $170 well spent IMO

how did you guys install the grills?

my first method was holding firmly on the slats and pulling but i feel the slats are bending and i don't want to break them so i stopped. should i just give it one big pull?

i then removed the strip and bolts and tried to stick a long flat head to release the tabs. after alot of fussing, i only got one tab loose . i was afraid to bend the bumper anymore than i was.

these are a major pita.

DO NOT PULL on the grill without undoing clips as you will break them... this used to be the way to do it on older models...

Undo all the torx on top of the bumper and then the 4 clips as well... reach in with your hands (tried with flathead but it was easier to pinch the clips) and feel for the clips and then push in 1 by 1 while pulling on the grill in the spot the clips your working are... once you have the tops and the sides, pull the grill halfway out and then you can kind of reach the bottom ones... gently push and pull the bottom part as the clips come undone and BAM you got the first one...

Simply repeat for the second one
