2018 m6 discounts

what kind of discount would be reasonable to get brand new m6 (probably convertible) ? I think it could be smart buy if I can find colors and options I like for the weekend car.
Also, how practical is m6 convertible? can I do COSTCO shopping?

Thanks

mixed feeling after the test drive. Many pluses: luxury interior, HUD, awesome seats, decent trunk space for my needs, pretty conservative look, good enough sound from the exhaust.
This particular car didn't have competition package.....
I wasn't impressed with acceleration or handling. Having M and AMG cars before I expect I guess firmer suspension, tighter steering and more from 560 hp v8.
The car is probably great cruiser as noted in many reviews but I'm not sure if I will go with one even with good discount.
May be car with comp package have more what I'm looking for - any opinions on that?

You don’t have to forget that the M6 is the most luxurious sports car (2+2) on the planet. Ok, Porsche Panamera and the CLS AMG are also there..
You cannot compare a M6 with a M2 or M4. The M6 is the Sport version of the 7series. It is a heavy car and not so agile as a M3 or M4.

Very true ... it is a wonderful cruiser and everyday toy!!!

With the Akra, Dinan stage II and Dinan suspension modes it was a very capable car and I even tracked mine a few times a year! Wonderful acceleration and handling, but yes it is a heavy car!

As I have a track membership, I traded for the new M2 competition as I felt the weight was an issues on the track and I was getting to the. Point where I was always feeling the rear starting to drift into the corners ... as a track car I learned a lot with my M6 cabrio ... as a daily driver and family car in good weather it was amazing!!!

I have mixed emotions on the trade in as the M6 was a wonderful luxury sports car and cruiser!!!

i didn't remove m6 from my list. If I can find new/slightly used one with CP I may look at it again. Also it should be some nice color combo so I can enjoy it on nice days. Will see.
Hope to post picture here!

Not sure if the non-competition packaged cars do no have the comfort->sport->sportplus modes, but there is a pretty significant difference in throttle response, suspension, and steering wheel weight between the furthest two modes, so much so I was also a bit underwhelmed when I first test drove it (in default comfort mode) myself.

The speed issue could honestly be traction control if you are not used to modulating the throttle as needed on the m6. This would be especially true if the car is equipped with the garbage pirelli tires as they flat out can not put the power down.

As far as usability the m6 is pretty much a 7 series for two people imo. Very good size trunk for vert with the trunk partition up. My wife and I have taken ours on several week long vacations driving 10+ hours each way and for trips like this I'm not sure there is a better car. 7 series luxury for two up front, easily pass just about anything on the highway, pretty good gas milage, and when you arrive pull all the luggage and drop the top to cruise in style!

Having said that what you gain in usability from the prior model you give up in sport driving. While my wife's vert is faster in a straight line than my v10 coupe, in more sporty driving the v10 coupe was like an entry level exotic whereas this one is closer to just a faster regular series bmw. I'd say it's the best all around car I've ever owned (the transmission is of course fantastic and the suspension is actually really great for long distance cruising), but it without question would not be my pick for a weekend fun car. Sad to say but I don't think bmw makes anything nowadays that would be my first pick for that job.

Very reasonable discounts there are 19 M6 CV's left in the US I know where they all are. Invoice (6.2% discount) less flagship certificate ($5,000) you should be able to get.

Thanks to all. I can get new m6 (MSRP around 140) for 120 or little less....or new SL550 for the same price. Both of them older models and it shows. SL has retractable hard top and it's a big advantage for practical driving.

Or...wait for m850 convertible and get all newest tech for probably about the same price.

My DD is AMG wagon and I'm looking to add comfortable convertible with max luxury and tech (HUD, vent seats, massage seats, safety tech etc).
Not bad problem to have!

again...the 7 series and the 6 series share virtually no technical commonalities. Stop perpetuating this nonsense. The 5 and 6 series GC is virtually identical other than the unibody.

have you seen the new 8 series in person yet? You should see it before considering it over the M6. Personally, if I were in your position and with the funds, I would just wait for the M8 at this point, which is about 2 years out from now.

I like that recommendation and it will also be interesting to see pricing of the 2nd hand 850i cars when the M8 comes around. Because I imagine until then 2nd hand 8 series will be damn expensive and could eventually drop a little when model choices and offer increase though it's hard to predict. However I still think the 6 series (whether m6 or any other F06 model) is a long keeper - at least for me.

Yeah, the 850 will depreciate like a rock. All large luxury coupes depreciates hard.

I agree, I'm holding on to my F06 M6. Personally, I think it's one of the best looking BMWs in history, and that itself will allow the car to hold slightly better value (or at least be easier to sell with no concessions.)

Now when the M8 GC comes in, all bets are off. Based on the concept car, I'm not loving the design. It's too futuristic with its large body panels protruding out. Now if it looks closer to a stretched M850i, I think us F06 owners are in trouble...bc that would be a gorgeous car.

yes, i plan to visit my dealer when they have m850 coupe to check it out and see how i like it. The true M6 as you saying is 2-3 years from now plus I want convertible which could be even later.

I may find m6 with comp package in colors I like and pull the trigger...will see.

Saw the 850 coupe in person last week at the dealership. Drop dead gorgeous. Tempted, but like some above, not selling the F06 M6. A M8 coupe will have to be in a few years to add to the collection

Also personally I prefer to wait for a few ones to be around and take advantage of any "revised versions" once the childhood problems get solved as happens with every series/model. That doesn't mean necesarrily waiting for LCI but at least to hear the feedback from early buyers and see how this promising series turns out to be on a 360 degrees scale.
