Anybody use Bimmerlink?
I just downloaded Bimmerlink to be able to measure my tranny fluid temp when I change it. It's a cool app, but I have questions. For example, you can measure oil level. My oil is full, and the app says my level is 255. 255 what? And even if I knew what unit 255 is, how does that help me if I don't know what it is supposed to be? The app site has no explanation of all the things it can measure. Has anybody found an explanation of what all theses sensor values are?

Before I downloaded the app I assumed the "dashboard" of parameters it could monitor live was a set list of the common things - oil temp, coolant temp, etc. I did not realize it has a list of about 200 things to choose from. Although many of them are self-explanatory, many are not. Like why are there at least three separate battery voltage categories? Nobody explains any of this stuff. |

You can live monitor many things - % state of battery charge, voltage battery is charging at, turbo boost pressure, acceleration rate, temps of all fluids, actual gear you are in, plus about 100 more esoteric things, read and clear errors, register a new battery, open your exhaust flaps - lots of stuff.

I was tooling around on bimmercode where there is an option to code the alarm sound to British tone. I tried it, but it didn't work, and it sent the electronics into a spin. Used BImmerlink to TQC and reset the trouble codes |

They have a website…click link to go directly to it…then scroll down to see numerous screen shots of the app: www.bimmerlink.app
As mentioned already…they could really add more explanation…but I guess they feel the numerous images is enough to show you what the app can do. It is the sister app to Bimmercode.

BTW...for those that have the Bimmerlink app...don't forget that you can go into settings to select the "unit of measure" you want for multiple scales. The images below shows how to select for distance:
