Enjoy.
Coupe for me means 2 door, and not hauling people around in the back seat. The design troubles me more from the standpoint of having a 6 badge than its attractiveness. IMHO, this is what 5 should look like.

Must say I kinda of agree with everyone here. Nice looking car, but really, the only full size four-door ///M should be the ///M5. If the ///M3 is not the flagship, which I understand since its smaller, then it must be the ///M5.
Ah, whatever, let 'em do whatever makes them happy. Cheers, e46e92

Great looking car. Agree with posts above... IMO, the M5 should have come out of the gate looking something this to seperate it from the rest of the F10 5-series line-up. This thing is gonna be MAJOR $$$ --- base price probably right around $100K.

I think with this model bmw is trying to maybe attract a new audience i fully understand everyones input about how the 4 door M is normally the m5 but i compare this m6 gran coupe to the cls amg. Many people drive cls's and mercedes calls them coupes as well. I feel that this will help bmw take over high end cars and maybe luxury sedans as the offer to high end M sedans that have two different purposes

I suppose this is BMW's answer to the MB 4 door coupe. Somehow these larger cars don't do it for me. Time to start stuffing the piggy bank for the next generation M3 (or whatever they call the coupe) with it's mystery motor.

As a sedan loving individual, I would actually take the M6 Gran Coupe over the M5.
It makes sense for BMW because there is already a huge potential market for this segment. (CLS AMG, Panamera, AM Rapide, Audi S7/RS7, etc.) |

I see the market niche but it doesnt look like a good strategy to destroy the legacy of the m5. still, how bout an m7, that wouldnt be a bad idea so it can compete against bentleys as such having the extra luxury and the performance of a sport car

More power. Better looking. 4 doors. So this is essentially the "better M5"?

Well, Mercedes has both the E class and S class which are 4-doors, but they also have the CLS 'coupe'. Audi has their A6 and A8 4-door sedans, but they now also have an A7 4-door. How exactly has BMW lost their minds by wanting to stay competitive with their rivals?

Take the V10 from the last M5, put some turbos on it, and call it a day. That would easily produce in excess of 650 hp, and somewhere around 500-550 torque. Then put in those ceramic brakes we've been hearing so much about, and the DCT. Then, and this is a must no matter what, drop a few hundred pounds. |
