At least I wasn't around early enough to crank start the car by hand!

Yeah, I'm thinking about having a passenger mirror installed before I re-paint the 77 bug. I already installed the FM radio with Bluetooth, and I actually put a Jumbo Jack ball on top of antenna.

Don't remember that, I'm not that old . I do remember the 3 on the tree and the manual choke now that sygazelle mention it. I also remember the foot e-brake.

I do remember pressing the gas pedal before starting the car in the old days, but that was normal procedure with carburetor engines. Not sure if that's what sygazelle was referring to when he said "starting the car by pressing the gas pedal to the floor"

I had a passenger mirror installed on my daughter's '66 Mustang. Was many years ago. She doesn't have that car anymore.

And when you say "Jumbo Jack ball" do you mean this? I remember those.

I know exactly what you mean -- I had a 1965 Fiat 600D and I think my max was 65 mph. And in my youthful indiscretion, I reached 65 pretty much every day!

I had a maroon Fiat 126 ''maluch'' at one time for a short period. It was known as the poor mans 911 with the same rear engine/box RWD layout as the Porsche but for the thrifty running costs. If you got the clutch/throttle right at start it could beat most cars from the lights and the aero dynamic body took it to 78 mph on the clock.

My 1971 Mercury Capri had one of those gizmos. Hadn't thought about it in decades.

I once drove a sixties Daimler Dart with an iron block 2.5 V8 auto, it was so slow a ''Maluch'' would beat it from the lights to 30mph

You know you're old when...

Attending family picnics was mandatory.
