Does your seat belt hug you too?

Hi all,

I know I’m not imagining this but I do find it a little odd. When I drive away from standstill after first starting the car and putting my seat belt on the seat belt tensions as though it’s ‘hugging’ me And pulling me into the seat....nice sort of but what if any point is this for? It’s not hard, fairly benign really. It does this when I start up and put on my belt and drive away, not constantly while driving ..... I’m assuming this is normal... Anyone know why they do this? of course Nothing in the manuals explains this little peccadillo.....

I really like the seatbelt ‘hug.’

Oddly, mine seems to have stopped doing it about a year ago. Took me a while to notice. I wonder what controls that that would cause it to stop.

Normal. Supposed to simulate sucking you into the seat, inspired by racing.

I’m so used to it, but ~EVERY~ person who rides with me for the first time goes “whoa, what was that?” when it happens.

Yes, kind of a neat little feature. Kind of like the car saying, "OK, here we go!" And yeah, everyone who rides in the car for the first time typically comments on it.

By the way, not all 6ers give hugs. My 2012 does not. So not sure when it started, maybe 2013?

I stand corrected, mine does still does it but it seems more subtle and less noticeable. Maybe it still loves me, but just less.
