Yeap. I've never understood the GT, sad. So they are or aren't bringing back the 6-series?

Can they just keep it simple? Certainly there can't be a market for people looking for just a GC and their needs can't be fulfilled through a wagon or X-SUV? I wonder what % of cars they sell are GC.

This car looks horrible. It's adding a GT to model lineup that is not asking for one. It's ruining the image of the 6er being a high-end sleek and stylish car. It's not going to sell.

If you want to sit up higher, there's already a 5gt, an X5, an X6, and soon an X7. Who is going to buy this hot mess? For a new release, it looks dated out of the gate. Horrible.

BMW could have made a 6er sport wagon with a design that is in keeping with the 6er sleek styling. Instead, this???

Mercedes management must be sitting back and smiling right now. If BMW thinks this is okay, then what else will they be launching while Mercedes is releasing amazing, fresh, new designs.

I absolutely don't want Bangle back. But, somebody needs to shake these guys up a bit. This is horrible.

How does the saying go? If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck it's still an ugly 5GT. They didn't even bother trying to tie it to the out going 6 design. This front end is the same as the boring 5er.

I agree. They could have called it anything but chose to link it to one of the most iconic nameplates in BMW heritage. When they showed us the original design mock up it was much sleeker and more like a a sweep back 4 door coupe then this emerges. Not bad but certainly no 6. Another missed opportunity.

Seems BMW is happy building vehicles like Detroit did 25 years ago. Meanwhile Detroit builds vehicles precision-honed for the Nurburgring today.

Clearly there is a market for these ugly GT cars, that kinda target audience would look at this car and say this is more practical/spacious etc v/s the regular 5.
BMW themselves would be knowing that this is an ugly car but these days market/competition is pretty stiff hence they want to make as many car combinations possible from a single platform (which in this case is based on G30).
