2012 650 vanos issues
Gm guys. my 2012 convt with 98,000 miles threw a drivetrain malfunction. Both of my indepedent mechanics said its a vanos issue and neither of them will touch it since it requires pulling the whole engine. They suggest taking it to the dealer. Was there a recall on this issue? and how much would something like this cost?

The 2012 engine had many issues that resulted in an informal "recall" called the Customer Care Program (CCP). You can Google that in conjunction with N63 and read what the issues were, but I am not recalling that the Vanos system was part of it. And even if it was, I'm not sure what remedy you have after 12 years. Having said that, you are the first person I have ever heard say the engine needs to come out. Why? The system controls movement of the camshafts on top of the engine. Unless somebody here knows for sure, I think you need to do some research or get some more opinions. As for cost, that depends on what is actually wrong. "Vanos issue" is way too vague.
