I was talking to a buddy and he said that I can be a bit of a jerk while driving. I responded that if I was being a jerk while driving, he could bet his last dollar that it would be on the national news.

I want a few simple things while driving. Use the left lane for passing. Trying parking within the space. Put the cell phone down and drive. Put the cell phone down while backing out of a fuqing parking space forcrissakes. No, I don't want to race you.

And my new pet peeve...I-10 is a couple of thousand miles long and as we are the only cars in sight, you don't need to be 1 car length behind me.

I carpooled with some other folks to a faraway cycling event a few years back. We swapped driving chores. When the other guy was driving he'd hook onto another car and do whatever that car did in terms of speed. I asked him why. "I don't have to think as much", was his reply. "The person in that car ahead of me is doing it for me." Remember that the next time one of them rides up behind you and starts matching your moves.

Well once in perhaps 10yrs this guy will plow right into the guy infront because of a stopped car in the fast lane or some unforeseen event, and he couldn't react fast enough because he outsourced the job to the guy infront. Works until it doesn't.

The only time I tailgated was when i first started to drive, a crappy car, didn't care just wanted to get there fast and was having fun. Then a cop appears behind and starts to tell me off. I apologize through the window and he speeds off.

Happened to a good friend in his Aston. He had $40K in damage and she only had basic coverage.

Semi-unrelated he was in a different Aston at 6:00 in the morning on a 6 lane US highway. He was the only car at the light and was plowed into by a lady texting. The lady was pissed and asked why he was out that early. True story. He no longer drives Aston Martins.

My sister's bf was killed about 2 months ago when his Rav4 was punted off the road and into a tree in a driving rainstorm. My sister refused to ride in the thing and admonished him to purchase a more sturdy car for over 2 years. The sad thing was that he was a physician and could afford any car he wanted.
