2019 MY changes?
Anybody been able to figure out what has changed for the 6 GT for model year 2019?
And on a side note, anybody know when BMW might integrate the new tech they're putting into the G05 X5 (i.e. iDrive 7.0) into the 6 GT? When's the next major model update? |

The LCI will be after the 7 and the 5 get their LCI’s so that’ll be a long way away. The G30 LCI starts production in a July 2020. The G30 was launched 9 months before the G32 so I’m guessing the LCI will be first quarter 2021 unless BMW move it forward to coincide with the G30
Look up F30 and F32 as well as F80 and F82 updates - that was a mess with some parts coming earlier and some later for the 2 door variants, we might see the same thing with the G32. The F06/12/13 6er received a new screen and controller before the LCI so considering the screen is already launched in other models and the LCI is a long way away, I’m going to guess that the G32 will get it before the LCI. Exactly when - I’d guess July 2019 as the US MY19 G32 ends in June. |

Hi Wild Blue,
I ordered my 6 GT 3 weeks ago and was hesitating a lot to take the Driver Assistance Pack. I was mostly interested in the Speed Limit feature. My dealer (in Belgium) told me that BMW just informed him that they changed the production and that Speed Limit Info is now standard on the 6 GT. I’ve been looking everywhere on BMW’s website, but I can’t find anything about this yet. However, the X5 for exemple now also has speed linit info and lane departure warning standard. If you want the other features like lane change warning, you still need to add the Driver Assistance. I guess this is an indication that some things are changing for the new MY? |

Thanks! Interested in what else has been changed for MY2019.
(Looking for my next BMW, my whole family loves the 6GT. My only hang up is one that's kind of strange--as I get older, it's harder for me to sit down into cars with lower seat heights, and then climb out to get out. The previous 5 GT height was just about perfect. However, even when I move the current 6 GT seat up until my head hits the ceiling, I still have to push off and "climb out" of the car. Wish the seat height was just a few inches higher) |

A few changes. 1) The chrome strip on the door handles are removed. 2) If you have the M Sport package, you'll now get an M Sport Steering wheel. There was a supply shortage when the '18 was introduced. 3) Apple CarPlay is now standard; 4) LED Fog lights are removed. Other than that, some packaging changes. Parking Assistant is now part of the new Premium Package, which also includes Head Up Display, Gesture Control, Active Park Distance control and Surround View Camera. The Executive package is discontinued. iDrive 6 continues.
