Adding coloured strip to tyre side wall?
Saw a cool possible mod for my Shakir Orange M6 - adding a matching orange strip to the tyre side wall. There is a company that specialises in it and its not expensive. I’m not sure though?

I don’t know about this...
Could make it look like a 1974 Caddy...

I’d give this a miss... I think you need higher tyre sidewall for this to add any value, and probably a car from the 80’s or older. Please don’t ruin the clean looks of your car with nonsense like this - you must be getting really bored during the lockdown to think about something like this Go and give it another wash and wax instead!

I stumbled on this supplier after seeing it on a classic car restoration programme although they weren’t using it on a car like ours - https://www.mrwhitewalls.com/grid?li...Item-jr65yfg29. But I’ll give it a miss - it will cheapen the look. I’ll look harder for a better mod to occupy my lock down.

To each their own...but my 1st thought was of the 1968 Hot Wheels “redline” models (oh the memories ):
Examples of newer/modern cars:

Attachment 2287891 Haha, maybe that was my subconscious at work too - think i had that hot wheels exact car! Ive been struggling to find get the perfect side skirts on my car to perhaps improve the side view and when i saw the “orange” example wheel side wall stripe it caught my eye maybe just for my car colour - i managed to swap the headliner for my black interior with one from a car that had a full orange interior that i think nicely brings the exterior colour in. Maybe the side wall is a step too far. I might focus on finding the exterior side skirts and front lines instead.

E.g, on my list: 1a - An OCD detail of the exterior 1b - an OCD correction of any marks/scratches on the body & wheels 2 - Colorlock kit (or Swissvax) to revitalise/condition the interior leather 3 - Skirts 4 - Subtle front Lip, matching with 3 5 - Subtle diffuser, matching with 3 and 4 6 - Android auto 7 - Interior LED lighting upgrade 8 - Misc Trim - going around the car and bring OCD there are couple trim pieces showing wear which I would like to fix/replace (e.g. plastic door handle pull, handbrake button etc) 9 - Dash cam/Radar setup Some easy stuff I've done during quarantine so far: 1 - Oil bag 2 - Rear passenger screen set up (used iPad minis) 3 - Bimmercode 4 - B&O stereo calibration |

1. Retrofit Apple Car Play - my local specialist should have the right kit for me soon 2. Even though i have the M rear diffuser and i had the surrounding bits carbon wrapped I would like to get the 3D full rear kit below. 3. Im holding out for the right side skirts - im not keen on the ones out there and would have liked the Vorsteiner Aero Blades (below) but its only available on the coupe not GC. 4. Front 3D Front spoiler Enjoy |

hi there, hope your keeping well. Thanks for those links - still not 100% sure on any of the ones I’ve seen out there, not sure I really know what I want lol. Yeah, the red stripes were a silly idea.

I've heard good things about these guys: https://tredwear.com/product-category/racing-letters/
The ammo guy used these on his P-car I think. Cheers. |

Totally agree - the Vorsteiner skirts are my favourite. I've done a bit of research on the forum and came across these When I'm ready to buy I'll post about these to see if anyone has any experience buying these (crap sounding website name..!) edit: forum won't let me post the link, but google search "mod bargains" and check their carbon fiber skirts for the 6GC |
