Auto close window up issue

Hi All!

Today, I noticed after driving for a bit with the windows down (all 4), the drivers rear window would "bounce" if I did the one touch up. What I mean is, trying to get it to auto close, it goes about 3/4, then bounces back down to open. I have to manually hold it to close it. Is this something that is programmable, or an issue?

I will be taking it to the dealer for a right rear rattle noise, so this may be added, just wondering if I can change this setting.

Thanks!

You will see this periodically, but not regularly. I see it maybe once every 3 or 4 months. When it happens, push and hold the button down while the window goes all the way down. Continue to hold for a couple seconds after it is all the way down. No pull and hold while the window goes all the way up. Continue to hold for a couple seconds. That usually does the trick.

I just bought a used 2016 which is doing this.. they told me it was related to the key programming... however, the key was reprogrammed and it still is doing it but not all the time.

I am taking it back next week or month when I can. It helped me open the door to close it once or twice but hasn't worked every time. The issue itself doesn't happen EVERY time ... but has definitely been the majority.

Yes, exactly the same issue! Please let me know what they say when you take it back.

i've had this issue on my 14 coupe.. I was told the regulator needed to be reset, and they did that, but still didn't help. Then they said they ordered new parts to get it replaced under warranty. Still haven't done that.. Its a bit annoying but not too big a deal lol

Regulator and motor need to be replaced. Car will be sleeping in the service lot until Tuesday or so until the motor comes in. Hopefully that fixes it!

My car was doing this and I brought it in for service, they updated the software and the trans software as well, and it has not done it since.

Good to know. Do you have any details on the software update they used?

Like a charm!! Been testing it to make sure ... with all the fancy features, it's sure a relief to get basic functionality back!

Just to update everyone, I had 3/4 replaced, and now the 4th is hopping, so back to the dealer!

Be sure to test your rear sunshades before you leave... This happened to me the next morning. Apparently they forgot to hook it back up properly. Dealer did replace the sunshade and tint at no cost of course.

This issue has popped up on my new F06. I was told it may be a programming issue. It's a'17 with 13.2K miles on it -- should be covered by warranty -- but I was curious to know what exactly I should tell the dealership?

My right window at times doesn't even register the input to actuate the motors -- meaning, when I push the window down button, the window doesn't even move.

Any help with how to approach this issue with the dealership would be great.

Thanks!
