How long do normal brakes last on an M6?

I know this is subjective, but for a non-tracked car, how many miles do I generally get until I have to replace the normal (non-ceramic) brakes?

Even if non-tracked...you don't give enough details about your personal driving situation that would give you the best suggestions.

Where you drive, how you drive, what types of roads/highways you drive on, your average miles driven per year, and what type of driver you are (granny-toe - very aggressive) all come into play and we have no description of any of the aforementioned things to make suggestions or compare with.

If you live and work in close proximity and live in a rural location, versus a suburban location, vs an urban location...or then change the variables to where you live in one of the aforementioned locations but work in another...can vary how the length of time you'll need to replace brakes. Then if you throw in the types of roads...rural, suburban, urban...and if it is stop-n-go or mostly unobstructed highway driving...this too can create a totally different scenario of how soon brake replacement will be needed.

Do you jack rabbit start from ever stop sigh/traffic light? Or are you more of a granny-toe driver?

That's fair. How many miles did your initial brakes last on your M6?

Fronts and rears wear at different rates. Fronts wears quicker. Expect to replace a full set of front rotors and pads within 30k miles and rears within 40k miles.

Replaced my rear brakes at 33k. Indicator light deemed they needed replaced. Based off the visual inspection after I took the pads out I concur with 40k.

OP, also note that rotors may not need to be changed at the same time as the pads.

I got my indicator for my rear at 44k, upon visual of the pad thickness, there's a ton of meat left. I decided to go another 1k, monitoring it weekly.

It's difficult to measure rotor thickness on the rears unless you have a small precision caliper tool. Mine could not get in between the shield and rotor. The tool was ok for the massive front rotors.

I agree, typically with all BMW CBS estimates, when pads are changed, the rotors are close to it's minimum thickness. It's been the case for me on all my current and prior BMWs

My rotors warped so fast. 30k

IMO these brakes are not good when it comes to quality and longevity.
