Resonator delete on Comp Pack?

I've read the forums stating it's "pointless if it's comp pack."

Sound wise, is there any difference with only a resonator delete? Even if it's only 10%.

Straight pipe or Xpipe?

I do not want to do a muffler delete.

Catless downpipes are the way to go with your stock comp mufflers, makes a great noise

It definitely was but I'm in NY and was having a hard time passing emissions inspections here due to the inactive sensors.
Had to revert it back to stock DPs since I didn't want to deal with that headache.

Doing the resonator delete on its own is very minimal. Look into high glow cat options. The down pipes are the restrictive part for our cars. Also if you haven't you can wire open the stock exhaust valves.

I wouldn't even waste your time with high flow cats, for the cost compared to catless downpipes and the minimal gains I would go straight to catless.

I have the resonator delete, it makes for loud, raspy cold starts and just a subtle change in sound around town. I recommend it for minimal change of that's what you want.

Thanks for the info! Def. All I need is even a 10% increase in sound/rumble and I'm happy.. I'll definitely be doing this too.

You have a comp pack? Did you straight pipe it or X?

if you buy the M Titanium Akra exhausts, the cold starts and exhaust noises on the comp pack are heavenly, its the loudest thing in garages lol

Yes, comp pack. No other changes, the car had an exhaust bypass on it when I purchased it. It sounded too loud for my taste and it droned on the highway.

I did it on mine. 10% difference in sound is an overstatement. I would say 5% max.

Update:

Finally got to take it to the shop and had the resonator delete; straight piped.

It definitely is worth it in my opinion, 10-15% increase in sound and burbles sound more aggressive.

I'm still contemplating doing a muffler delete… it might be too raspy sounding for me and and I also want to keep my carbon fiber M tips;
Which most of these aftermarket kits provide their own and mine won't directly bolt on.
If anyone has suggestions besides turner/soul, let me know.

What did that run you if you don't mind me asking? And does it mess with the sensors at all?

Thx

It cost me $150 and it did not affect any sensors.

In Long Island NY; it cost me $250.
For just the resonator delete.

Most shops in NY have different prices, some won't do it at all because of the crappy new laws we have regarding exhausts.

I'm assuming the muffler delete will cost around the same if you consider doing that as well.

Thanks - I would love to get a little louder beyond the open valves without changing everything

Exact route that I went. Free flowing downpipes and wired up the exhaust valve.
