FYI: BMW 3rd party Extended Warranty EasyCare Costs for M6 GC

Hey guys, i just wanted to post some information about the easycare extended warranty i got for my M6 with pictures for anyone who is interested.

For my 2016 BMW M6 GC with 23k miles, I got Easycare's Totalcare warranty for 7 years 100,000 miles for $3660 full coverage literally covers everything, with $100 deductible and $50 a day rental car coverage. It even covers tires and rims, minus curb rash but blown tires and bent or cracked rims are fully covered too!

The only thing is that the warranty starts from the in service date, which was 11/16 for my car so it pushed the "7 year warranty" another 4 years until 11/2023. Its not 7 years from when you purchase it. My car is still under the original bmw manufacture warranty until 11/2020

Whats the funny is that the 84 months/100k miles was $4385 versus the 84 months/74k for $4421 lol ignore the $4000, that was just me writing down their original negotiation from another bmw dealer who i didnt go with. But yeah ive attached the system generated print out for all the prices for a 2016 bmw m6 with 23k miles.

The prices for the picture could be lower depending on what you get but i wanted a certain monthly payment so the finance guy took off money on certain warranties and moved it to others to get the price I wanted in total so you should be able to get it cheaper. Oh and easycare's warranty gives you a prorated refund if you dont use it completely by 7 years and it is fully transferable.

I bought it from a bmw dealership. You can find out more information about coverage here: https://easycare.com/vehicle-service-contracts/ under the TotalCare section for each car area/section.

Also the BMW maintenance refresh (the option to continue the original 4 years of manufacture covered maintenance when buying a used car, since its no longer automatically transferred) costs the dealer $200 but they up mark it $700 so make sure you negotiate!

If you guys have any questions, let me know!

No its for any car. They only calculate it based on year/in service date and mileage not current manufacture warranty status because i checked out two different 2016 m6s with similar 23k mileage and one was under warranty and the other one was not but it was the same cost for the warranty for both vehicles

I had easy care on my 08 e92 335i and it paid for itself 3x over. Have it now on my m6, but haven't had to use it yet. Located in California

My 335 was a CPO vehicle at the time, and was a trade in at a Honda dealership. I purchased the warranty through Honda. My m6 was also CPO, and the previous owner purchased the warranty and it transferred over to me.

Reviving this since I'm in the market for an extended warranty as well.

Did anyone else go with Easy Care and care to share the dealer where the warranty was purchased and approximate pricing? I reached out to EasyCare and "a warranty specialist is going to call me back within 24-48 hours."

I'd like to know this as well, I have a 2016 M6 with only 16+K miles on it, I'm in Texas. Also, are these warranties Mod friendly? i.e. does tunning void this warranty.

I hear these guys are good, and was planning on talking to them before my warranty window closes. I hope EasyCare is a good option too.

That looks like an amazing deal but man that is only through Autonation or BMW? I am getting myself one in the process at Carmax and their maxcare wasn't as good as your offer.

They don't cover rims and tires i think

For those of you that wonder here is what I got

Although I heard the Carmax warranty is king but not sure if this can beat the OP's offer. it certainly seems much better in my eyes.

They called me and told me the product they offer for the M6 can be purchased through a dealer and not direct to consumer.

So I'm calling a bunch of dealerships trying to find someone to help me.

Crazy how difficult it is getting to be!

damn that sounds like a painful process.. I don't even know if any dealer would be willing to do this but if you happen to find out please share~!

I tried emailing Fidelity Warranty as someone mentioned above but there is no way to contact them via email so I will need to call on Monday, however, I think it will be highly likely the same way as the TotalCare.. only via participating dealers..

If it's of any use - I compiled some data points when shopping for an aftermarket warranty a few months back: https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1670180

I'll be posting an update soon as I just did my first claim

Thanks for sharing your spreadsheet! it seems like you put in a lot of your time/energy to get all the information, judging from the numbers on your sheet I think my Maxcare offer still stands in a good place among these quotes you have but not the warranty OP got.

I have not heard about an extended warranty that even covers tires and rims.. that's insane + its 7 years long

No probs

RE the tire/rim warranty, I found when shopping around these were sold separately as "road and tire coverage" or similar name. I noted a couple on my spreadsheet but wasn't searching for these quotes actively. I think it's similar with a new car purchase, dealers try and sell you rim/tire coverage as it's not covered by manufacturer warranty.

I've contacted a BMW dealer where I leased my 4 series about 3rd party extended warranty and they are supposed to get back to me by tomorrow with available options. I don't have a high hope honestly but just want to see what's out there.

I will be very highly likely to end up with MaxCare from Carmax..unless OP's deal can be available for me as well

Ok, I spoke to one or two dealers about EasyCare. One of them discontinued it last year (they didn't say why). The other one still offers it, but OP got a sick deal if he got a full coverage. In all my conversations about EasyCare, it does not come cheap. For a 2016 with 20k, you're looking at over $8k.

I tried to call Ally and got bounced around by 3 separate departments because no single person could help me. Basically, any product they offer for BMW M6 will be offered only by a dealer, and is not direct-to-consumer. You can find dealers via their website: https://www.ally.com/auto/dealer-locator/

I also got a quote from a BMW dealer in the DMV area for my M6 with 20k miles. Its an exclusionary +5yr/ +60k miles warranty with 100% due upfront for $5,000. Its called the Mechanic Platinum and offered through Assurant. MMMM6GC has it listed in his AWESOME spreadsheet.

I was planning to call Carmax, but may end up going with the options I have already since I'm tired of making phone calls in the middle of this weird year that is 2020.

Yes the process is very tiring, btw Carmax do not sell their warranty unless you purchase the vehicle from them and it's at the time of purchase.
