Armrest driver side doesn't ping up

Hey so my armrest compartment is annoying me. Basically when I press the button. The driver side compartment doesn't ping up but the passenger side one does so, have to open that one first then open the driver side to be able to pry it open. does anyone have an idea how I can repair this without swapping the whole thing out just a bit annoying.

Sounds like the unlock mechanism doesn’t work properly.

The garage I got it from said its not a big deal can get a new part but I was hoping it would be something easy to fix with some glue and a match stick.
