My new M6 Coupe Competition Pack

You know you did well when you're in even more love the next morning that you were yesterday when you picked her up

This is the only NZ New Competition Pack (we get a lot of grey imports from Japan and England here) and has done 7000km with an original registration date of 31st December 2016, build date 13th September 2016.

Apart from the Comp Pack it is fairly loaded as all NZ and AU cars are, effectively it has all of the options apart from CCB and the B&O system.

I've only driven it in the wet or early this morning with the roads still drying out since purchasing it and with the PZero's this means I haven't been able to go full throttle above about 3000rpm yet - but I'm hoping for a good drive today!

Next week I'm going from Auckland to New Plymouth to Wellington to Martinborough to Napier then back to Auckland in it to enjoy some of New Zealand's fantastic empty highways with plenty of corners. Once I've done that it will be back to BMW for the Carbon diffuser, carbon shifter and the M Performance pedals. Future mods will include putting my 343M F10 M5 20x10 wheels onto the front and changing to MP4S 285/35r20 at the front with 305/30r20 at the rear, potentially spacers and of course I've already forced the exhaust flaps open and disconnected the ASD module.

In my C63 I had it from 12,000km to 146,000km in about 41 months so this might end up being over 160,000km (100,000miles) in the 5 years I intend to own it, it will be my only car and will go everywhere with me - I'm looking forward to many adventures in it

Ohh and apologies for the poor pics, it was late in the afternoon when I got it and early morning here now, that combined with an iPhone makes for some rubbish pics. I'll be taking lots of pictures on my upcoming trip so upload on here too.

Not many, I think they sold one Convertible, about 5 Gran Coupes and about 15 Coupes. I’ve seen about 5 on the road in total and only one other LCI that I’ve seen which was a UK import. That one is also San Marino Blue. At least a few Sakhir Oranges ones were sold here including the Convertible which also has Sakhir leather and B&O but no Comp Pack.

I’ve got a few friends at BMW NZ so I might try and get all of the specs from them of the other NZ New ones

Our cars are AU spec but nobody imports cars from AU to NZ as their cars are more expensive, both new and used. They used to protect the local industry with complex rules for second hand imports from other countries.

how do you drive 90,000 miles in 3 years, on an island with only 11,000 miles of numbered highways?

Also, which M Performance seats will you be installing?

Hello kiwi brother

Beautiful car, Singapore Grey, no? I had one similar (SGN Grey) pre LCI which I traded for a SAN Marino Blue Gran Coupe a couple of weeks ago, both Comp Pack. Yes, I think we are some of the really lucky ones in the lands of Commodores and Falcons...

Michelin MP4Ss are a must, but you may want to consider keeping the front tyre size original - it’s not as if 265 is not wide enough, and makes it a bit more nimble in tight turns. But 305s at rear will improve the traction quite significantly. Next stop should be wheel alignment - and don’t take it to BMW for that... Find someone who knows what they do, it really changes the car - makes the smile on your face even bigger

Yep, I've seen your posts, the new one is beautiful. I'll be honest, I'd prefer something other than Singapore Grey, but the other specs are more important to me.

I'm keen to try a few different front tyres and do a bit more research around alignment settings, what is your car aligned to?

To be honest I’m not sure of the exact alignment specs, I’ve been lucky enough to find a guy here in Melbourne (TruTrack) who is an absolute genius what it comes to wheel alignment. Appears that M6 is more sensitive to rear wheel alignment than front, and he is not going by factory specs... Funny, I’m neurotically interested in every detail about my car, but didn’t even feel that I needed to ask him what the alignment specs are... If I ever need to do it again, I know where to go. I can ask if he knows a like minded colleague in Auckland?

That would be fantastic - I haven't found anyone here but complete idiots - in my C63 I went through 7 sets of rears and 4 seats of fronts - 4 times I got it back with the steering wheel off centre and had my car configured as a C non-C63, an E63 as well as a C63, I can't find anyone in Auckland to align my car the way I want, or even talk about tyre life vs toe & camber.

First mod complete, I have disconnected the ASD module. I still don't know why BMW did this at all.

Did some MDM on a road tonight, it does let the car move around quite a bit but still manages to hold the car in the direction you want it to quite easily. I have really only driven MDM at Alpine xDrive extensively before and it is quite forgiving.

Going to be in Brisbane for the next few days sadly, but my trip around North Island next week should be fun. Hoping I get some decent weather for my 34th birthday!

Normally my girlfriend tries to make me stop everywhere and take selfies of us....next week it'll be me stopping and taking photos of the car. We'll see how that pans out on this upcoming trip
