Get a M6.

Seriously, go to BPMsport.com. Mike is one of the best BMW tuners in the business. His customer service is beyond anyone I've ever dealt with. He's also running a special on his tune. I just got mine. Haven't installed it yet, but had one on my e92 M3 and it turned it into a beast. Definitely won't regret it. Read his reviews on the forum.

the only solution...really

But alternative is also Dinan tunes, which retains factory warranty, since you have a 2015 and all.

Here you go. 70hp and 40-50 ft lb. of torque.

While I agree that it does retain your factory warranty, it is double the price for about the same gains. BPM's tunes are fully reversible. Dinan's tunes are pretty much canned so there's not as many options to customize it compared to others.

I heard Dinan tunes are piggyback tunes, so it is reversible too.

I have the Dinan tune on my 650i Just to be clear - the tune USED to be honored by BMW. That is no longer the case. Once turbos hit and the tunes became a matter of cranking boost they stopped. What Dinan will do is warranty their tune and cover damage created by Dinan products. Slightly different, but the difference is Dinan customer service vs BMW. A lot of this changed when Steve Dinan left Dinan and did his own thing. Dinan is now owned by a company that owns a bunch of other aftermarket companies.

That said it doesn't really bother me. Yes it is expensive, but I have never had an issue with it. It is easily reversible. It can be temporarily disable or if you multiple levels, dialed back. Great for inspections or A/B comparisons.

With all that said, if your first thought after getting the car is you need more power you should seriously think about getting an M6. If you found an M6 with the competition pack you will get a massive improvement in power off the bat, and you can tune them down the road when you want more.

Easy to spend someone else's money I guess.

Will the stage 2 of that tune remove the CEL if you have DP's?

Still not home. I will definitely let you know how it goes. Probably next week.

I do not have aftermarket downpipes, so I do not have an issue. If you are willing to remove your cats then you will be happier with a more extreme tune.

My friend has a 535 with downpipes and he has to put the cats back on every year to get a Massachusetts inspection sticker.

Just to throw in my 2 cents. I had a piggy back tune (won't mention the name just to be fair) that I had to use my imagination to feel the increased HP. Then it threw a code and I pulled it out. Just installed the BPM Sport Stage 1 from Mike. I don't need my imagination anymore...the car screams. Easy to download and is reversible. Mike was amazing with support. I cannot recommend him or his product more highly.

Would love to see a comparison between a stock 650i, piggyback 650i (JB4 or Racechip) and BPM stage 1/2.

I currently have the racechip and am contemplating a flash tune. Already contacted BPM tuning with questions I have.

It was simple to install....all computer uploading and downloading through the OBD port under the dash....never opened the hood. Immediately noticeable in both daily driving and WOT. The piggyback was crap compared to this. Don't have any agenda here, but highly recommend Mike and his stage 1 tune.

I used a similar flashing technique in my Audi. I think if I was to do it, it would be Stage 2 as Stage 1 does not warrant a big enough upgrade from a piggyback. Does anyone know what type of power the Stage 2 BPM makes?

Have a flash tuned by BM3/Pro Tuning Freaks with FBO. Total difference from JB4. And this is just the OTS Stg2. Only use my JB4 for on the fly deleting and reading codes. Other than that it would be out my car.

You have the V8 or I6? Not looking to do FBO in the 650i, or otherwise I'd go for an M6. Want to keep the daily drivability with extra power. The Racechip is a nice improvement, I just want a little more without sacrificing anything.

Im v6. Car really wont make much of a difference and will be a waste of money without FBO. Especially the Charge Pipe and Downpipe Upgrade. You will be surprised with what FBO and a flash would do. I ran neck and neck with an SRT8 till 3rd gear. Beat up on some M3s and this is before im running Methonaol Injection and OTS. Look into a Sprint Booster at the very least.

I have a 650i. I think the piggyback probably has a bigger effect on this car than an I6. The most I would do is a Stage 2 with a downpipe. Not looking for any other BOs or meth.
