Need to change my rear brake pads need to reset the idrive countdown miles for the brake pads.
How to do it its the same like oil service reset?
And the red light on the dashboard go away when you change the rear brake sensor?

Yes, the CBS (condition based service) reset for the brake pads is similar to the oil service reset. You press & hold the odometer reset button until the CBS services appear in the instrument cluster display. You then proceed to do short/long presses of the cluster's button when you pull up the one for brake pad reset.

Q,
Is it possible to reset the value for the mileage ?
When doing a CBS reset, I’ve tried various combos of maneuvers with no avail.

Not that I know of. If it would be possible...you'd probably need software like Esys or ISTA where you can do serious changes like re-writing the VO codes (like they do for the headlight options they have in Europe but are coded off for the USA market).

If you have time...you could also scroll through the coding forums to see if this might be something BimmerCode is capable of, too (which would probably be done in EXPERT MODE).

Take note of the prerequisites given in the info from the TIS website.

If you have a check control message that will remain (or come back) after your reset attempt...then the procedure is not going to work.

For instance, if your brake CBS issue also requires the replacement of a brake pad wear sensor...resetting the brakes will not end the warning because the car is also getting data that the brake pad sensor has worn through. So every time you start the car...that alert will be sent from the check control system until the brake pad sensor issue is resolved.

I will change the sensor also
I am going to replace brake pads rear tomorrow
My question was all the message would disappear on the dashboard?
Mileage on idrive and red brake pad signal on dashboard?

Those questions were answered in post #2 in this thread. To recap...no they will not disappear automatically...you will need to initiate the instrument cluster's CBS reset procedures (again, see post #2 above)...or use dedicated software that can reset the CBS system AFTER you've changed the brake pads and brake sensor.
