Yes, the CBS (condition based service) reset for the brake pads is similar to the oil service reset. You press & hold the odometer reset button until the CBS services appear in the instrument cluster display. You then proceed to do short/long presses of the cluster's button when you pull up the one for brake pad reset.

Q,
Is it possible to reset the value for the mileage ? When doing a CBS reset, I’ve tried various combos of maneuvers with no avail.

If you have time...you could also scroll through the coding forums to see if this might be something BimmerCode is capable of, too (which would probably be done in EXPERT MODE).

If you have a check control message that will remain (or come back) after your reset attempt...then the procedure is not going to work. For instance, if your brake CBS issue also requires the replacement of a brake pad wear sensor...resetting the brakes will not end the warning because the car is also getting data that the brake pad sensor has worn through. So every time you start the car...that alert will be sent from the check control system until the brake pad sensor issue is resolved.

Those questions were answered in post #2 in this thread. To recap...no they will not disappear automatically...you will need to initiate the instrument cluster's CBS reset procedures (again, see post #2 above)...or use dedicated software that can reset the CBS system AFTER you've changed the brake pads and brake sensor.
