My M6 has a leak here. What is it and How to fix?

Just bought a used 2014 M6 with 45K miles and according to BMW service there is an “oil leak” right here.

What is this thing and is it DIYable?

My 2016 M6 GC had a leak from the rear differential, just discovered a few weeks ago. It was expensive because they had to unbolt the differential and put in new seals, plus align the rear again. But I couldn't take a chance with a differential leak. I am not sure what your picture is (it doesn't look like the rear differential), but they showed me my rear differential wet with oil from one of the seals.
