I’ve been using Akebono on all of my cars with great result, low dust and great stopping power. Whatever you decide, don’t get textar if you’re looking for low dust.

Yeah doesn't look like a bad alternative for more performance, I've had no complaints with the Z23 pads, I can't really tell a performance difference between them and OEM. If you go with the Z26 please post your feedback as far as performance/feel/dust/noise -- might switch to those when the time comes

I just went with Hawk ceramic pads on all 4 corners on my car. It's still in the shop so no feedback yet on how they perform. However, my buddy has them on his AMG's that I have a decent amount of seat time in and I loved them. No sacrifice in bite & of course a lot less dust.
I ran the powerstop z23's on my previous m6gc for over two years and they performed great - also a lot cheaper than the Hawks. My only gripe with them is how they change the rotor color into a light brown shade. I lived with it, but decided to switch it up this go round. And this is a common thing; happened on my cayenne GTS with the same pads + powerstop rotors. Few searches online and seen I wasn't the only one. Again, not really a deal breaker but rather something to consider. |

Front; https://truckandgear.com/hawk-perfor...hb828z760.html Rear; https://truckandgear.com/hawk-perfor...hb820z675.html They had the best prices from what I could fine. I also called Hawk first to confirm fitment and those were the part numbers they gave me for our cars. |

Thanks for this research guys. @Flo those pads are for CCB cars - I'm assuming these are for steel rotor M6s?
https://truckandgear.com/hawk-perfor...hb820b675.html https://truckandgear.com/hawk-perfor...hb828b760.html They also have Hawk "Street Race" pads but only in 0.675 thickness (rear) and without much further info - did Hawk give you any other details? https://truckandgear.com/hawk-perfor...hb820r675.html |

Sweet! Thank you for that - I've been looking for a set of pads (and plugs) for my next service and sounds like these are the ones to go with.
I'm also debating on changing my rotors - they're in decent shape but have developed a small "lip" around the periphery. Mechanic advised it's due to the minimal mileage I do - after sitting for a while the surface rust/crud builds up, then gets cleared off the main face after a drive, but small deposits remain around the very edge. The car is parked and then it builds up again. He said I can change the rotors if I wish but the same issue will develop again...have you guys experienced that? |
