Hi everyone, haven't been on the forum a lot as I haven't been driving a lot since the beginning of the year. Just did a 160 mile trip on major interstates, and found out the previously worked well highway assist stopped activating itself. No change to any settings, road condition was perfect, assisted driving plus is activated in driving settings, logged into my BMW ID and I was driving on HD map available roads.

Anybody else encounter the same issue? I checked the ConnectDrive store in the car but it doesn't show Highway Assist being as subscribed service; it's shown as activated on the web-page ConnectDrive store though. Could this be it? Can any of you with DAP check if Highway Assist is in your car's ConnectDrive store?

I tried resetting iDrive (holding volume button down for 20 secs) several times but doesn't seem to work. I hope this is not some unsolved software bug - may need to take the car to the dealer if that's the case.

I used mine today with no problems at all. Try the genius line before taking it in.

Update:

After resetting iDrive a couple of times, and leaving the car overnight, this morning the parking camera stopped working out of sudden, but then I was able to get the highway assist to work. After a brief stopover, the parking camera became available again. So I guess it's just some random bug

I think BMW should provide purchasers at least two free exorcisms per sale. It sounds like they may come in handy.

Absolutely. Yesterday, the app told me the passenger door was open, so it wouldn’t lock and arm the alarm. Went back to the car. Got in and it showed all doors closed. Got out and the app showed the same open door. Gave up and went inside. Five minutes later, it decided the door was closed and locked the car. Just weird.

Ya I had a similar thing happen a few months back. It was my first long road trip with the car and I was excited to be able to use the highway assist plus, and wouldn't you know it it wouldn't activate. It just never gave the option. I am sure I was doing everything right and the conditions were right as I had just used it earlier that day.

The next day it started working again... hasn't done that again thankfully!

I try to preemptively perform a reset of iDrive every two weeks or so. Definitely has some bugs to work out in the software, expecting that the update expected this month will probably have a ton of fixes in it.

I wonder if the cars received an update shortly before you experienced the issues. I think it may take a day or two after OTA updates for everything to get back to normal.

I have not had to use highway assist since last Nov until now so maybe that's the case. I think there was some software update in Dec or Jan?
