decent photographs of a 640i GT

OK, so ppl say it is ugly.

Looking at a lot of available photographs on the web one might think just that. I wasn't completely convinced either...

However, once you see one in person it is nothing like... to the point that once I saw one in a salon and drove it I decided to buy it straight away (with full kudos from my wife)

Aren't BMW PR guys able to source decent photographers?!

To solution this problem... I made some of my own on an iPhone in hope to convert few non-believers

btw. it is an M-Sport+ trim in Carbon Black

I fully agree, just easy to make the right pictures. I am quite happy with my new Beemer and only positive feedback on looks and ride.

gotta admit, while I've hated this car since it launched, they've really done well with the 2019 model. the rear deck line is so much better executed than before.

I am not a fan of any GT series by BMW but this one is decent and makes a presence as the pictures here show. It's a 6!

I just changed from 19" wheels to 18" wheels. They are takeoffs from a 2018 740 IX. It may not look as good but they ride beautifully on bad roads.

Nice. I definitely prefer your previous rims for aesthetics. Do you have to change the speedometer gearing for the different size wheels?

I agree the 19"s look better from the side but the 18"s ride much more comfortably. They are the identical size height and width wise so they look the same from front or back. The G32 6 series is basically the same as the G11 7 series so the wheels are interchangeable. These wheels and Prelli Runflats come off a base 2018 G11 740IX. Even the TPMS sensors work without modification. The 19" are 245/45-19 and the 18" are 245/50-18 size.

Ugly? In my opinion -- worthless, I know -- the 6GT is the best-looking current BMW production model. I love that roofline. I admit that the M rear bumper seems a bit awkward, though; paint color-dependent, I think.

6GT pricing would be a bit of a stretch for me, and it might be challenging to get my wife out of an SUV info a car. And then speaking of pricing, what is up with that? US$10K more than a 540i sedan? Granted the GT has some additional standard equipment but it appears the GT adds several thousands just for exclusivity/lower production rates. In fact, a M550ix sedan can be had for less than the comparably-optioned 6GT.

I do hear what you're saying, Liarry. But do remember, from the start, the 6 GT (previously 5 GT) was built on the 7 series chassis. You get a TON more rear legroom, space, and luxury from a 5-series. That's one of the things that appeals to me the most about the 6 GT--the interior compartment for occupants. You truly can take a grand tour road trip in it, and everybody's super comfy.

It is a true shame that BMW is halting production for the US market. For some reason my fellow Americans can't appreciate the cargo capacity of a mid-sized SUV with lower load-in height and handling characteristics of a sporty German sedan. What I'm really longing for is an Alpina B5 Estate, but I may need to move to Europe for the experience.

What a gorgeous car! I still don’t understand why people hated so much on G32 while Audi A7 seems to be a real success.
