Oil level question

Hi, i have a 2014 650i xdrive and the oil level check said it was down about a half a quart. So i added a half a quart and it sill says its down a half. I did check it right after i added it so do i need to drive it a bit and should it correct? Assuming it should have went up a bit.
Just for reference, this is the first oil i have had to add in 8k miles. I will be taking it to the shop for maintenance soon, but probably going to be another couple of weeks so i wanted to top it off.

You didn’t say if you ran the test again. But if you add oil…you have to rerun the test…just as if you had a dip stick…you have to pull the dip stick out to check every time you add oil.

Oil Level FYI (below): some model’s were changed to add 2 liters or 2 quarts when oil level reaches the minimum level. Follow the directive given by iDrive as to how much to add at minimum.
