M6 gran Coupe Tune
Hello guys I'm looking for a little help. I have a 14 M6 GC that I would like to have tune. The two tuning companies I'm looking at is Mission Performance and Bootmod3 with a tune from HCP. The question I have is do anyone know how they do their tunes? When I had my E60 M5 and when I got it tune I had to download the file from my car and send it to Jim Colley and he built the tune based off the file that I sent. So does the companies I listed above do that?

Also take a look at BPM Sport. Proven results and great customer service. They send you the cable and do a remote session to tune your car. Very easy. Done in about 30 mins.

Mission performance and game over, don't even think about anyone else, I have tried them and all my tuning issues ended the second MP flashed the car.

Depends what you’re looking for. A custom tune will require you to drive the car in a certain hard mannor and datalog it. You send the datalog to the tuner and changes are made, this goes on a few times back and forth. The best way would be having the tuner tune the car on the dyno. It is a much faster method. When you do the remote tunes it can be up to a month before the tuner sends you an update, currently what I’m going through with HCP and a custom tune.

Understood, 99% only take a few days but OP had specifically mentioned HCP so I just wanted to make sure he knew what he was in for.

You cant go wrong with either brand.
I have used Alex @ Mission Performance many times. Always prompt on replies and is available for live tuning sessions. Alex owns a F10 M5 and has a lot of experience on this specific platform. Bootmod is a great tool. There are neat features that allow the owner of the car to connect and make changes like "burble, cat delete, etc" and you can have multiple tuning maps and you load them any time choose to. Bootmod lets you "unmarry the software" and you can sell the Bootmod license if you were to remove your mods and sell the car in stock form. With a flash tune from Mission, VF, Active, etc... the tune stays with the car. I would recommend to do some research and reach out to the vendors to see what works best for you and what your goals are. HC is a very smart tuner and Alex is as well. Good luck and let us know what you end up choosing. |

Has anyone tried Evolve? Happy w/ their tune on my E60 M5, thinking going the same route.
Some of their runs though this is an F10 M5 w/ Stage II & catless DPs. Dyno: Last edited by BadSeed; 01-01-2019 at 07:48 AM.. |

I didn’t even watch the video but in the past couple weeks they’ve been going back and forth with clips of one guy’s tune vs the other guy’s. And depending on the profile usually dictates the win. Too many variables to use those clips as evidence.

I had Evolve stage 1 tune on my M6GC(with stock intake, downpipe but MP exhaust), I played with Nissan GTR on my way home right after the tune, the result was awesome

You can have the car tuned back fully to stock by your tuner as they download your OEM file from the DME's. What he means is that you cannot take that tuned file and sell it or put it on another vehicle.

If you sell the car you can not remove the tune and program it to another ECU. The only type of performance software that can hold a resale value is Dinantronics and Bootmod |

Concur with what Schnell1982 said. I'm running BM3 on my M6. Love it and haven't had any problems.

Hey Man,
I was debating on which way to go as well. I'm not sure if you know, but Eurocharged Performance out of Houston has been tuning turbo BMW's for a while now. The downside was the only way to get the tune was to get a bench tune from one of their authorized dealers. Another M6 friend of mine recommended them even though he has the Mission Performance tune. I reached out to them and found out they are going forward with flash tuning and recently received the flash tuner with stage 1 and stage 2. The CEO of Eurocharged helped me through the whole process. Currently I have Stage 1 because my downpipes haven't been installed. My M6 GC Eurocharged Stage 1 beat my friends M6 Coupe with Mission Performance Stage 1. Just FYI, in case you're interested.
