Charles Leclerc told Jacky Ickx after the mishap that he pushed the brake pedal, but that no braking happened. Ickx replied not to worry (see video below from 03:23 onwards).
Brakes no longer operating on a 1974 F1 car = trouble for any driver. |

I'm just giving him a hard time. Those cars are not easy to drive and with no brakes it could have been a lot worse with a less experienced driver.

Fully agree that Leclerc's mishap was 100% good faith. Leclerc is a genuinely fair driver.
Actually, he was lucky that the brakes of that 1974 Ferrari didn't malfunction in a fast part of the Monaco circuit. This could have ended bad for Leclerc and those who put him inside that (dangerous) car. Jacky Ickx consoled him after the mishap: "T'as rien" ("You have nothing = you're unharmed").
