Front high pitch whine from front end m6 gc

Hey guys,

I have a 2016 bmw m6 gc with 40k miles and the car has this annoying whine from the front of the car when its cold. The dealership can't seem to identify or replicate the noise.

Has anyone had this issue and what could it be.

100% sure that sound is cold DCT transmission oil being forced through the oil housing's filter. This is normal.

I have the same noise when the car is cold. Goes away once it warms up.

Same, mine does it for about the 1st 2 miles. Even if I let the car idle for 5-10 min or drive right away. Mostly sub 40 degree temps

Kind of hard to hear in these videos, but I get something that sounds like an angry mosquito coming from somewhere foreword of the dash on the other side of the firewall when the car is cold. Same thing?

Thanks for starting this thread and the responses so far. I was always curious what the high pitched noise was! Similar to the others, it seems to go away within the first couple clicks.

I get the same noise for a few miles in the cold. I also brought it up to my dealership, but they couldn't replicate it.

Me too me too! I have a video clip where I captured the noise, but it's the exact same noise in your vid.

I have three trips planned to my local mechanic to start the car up with him in the morning and drive to get coffee. Hoping to figure it out and make sure it's not something that needs to be looked at.

haha ive always wondered what that noise was, i've had it since i picked up the car at 34k miles, now at 60k miles, it still does it. Glad to know its part of the warmup operation. Good reminder to not load the engine hard when cold!

I never happened before but now it does and im at 40k miles

If you turn up the volume up all the way in the youtube videos i posted, you can hear it clearly
