Strange whistling noise at occasions..

Ok, here is a new one.

I get this strange high pitch whistling noise about once a week.

I have recorded it here, where it was rather loud. It's not always this loud and will go away by itself.

Any ideas please.

Difficult to hear but it could be a vacuum leak.

is it the noise in the video below? if so, related to the valve attached to the valve cover. most prevalent while auto start stop is active, and just before the car turns off.

cheers

Don't think it's that.
This sounds for a lot longer and sounds more mechanical I think

Check this out, connected to Aircon component.. It's from an f30, but similar sound nevrtheless. Scroll down towards bottom of page 2, and look at ineedabiggerboat's response
