What's the best Tune for the M6GC?

So many options.. what's the best one out there? DME? Evolve? Bootmod3? Feel free to list any that you feel are worthy.

Thanks!

Based on power/feel, ESS makes a solid tune for S63.

BM3 has the most configurable options on its platform.

I'd get ESS. Set it and forget it tune, no fiddling with updates and issues

Glad to help. ESS has been around for a long time supercharging BMWs and everything they make is set it and forget it.

Personally when I'm looking for a tune I want an OEM-like experience. I don't want to be datallogging and loading new versions every week, dealing with hesitations, CELS, etc.

Hell, I've tracked an M2 with a ESS flash tune and it works exactly as if it came with that power from the factory. That's the biggest endorsement I can ever see

I haven't seen many reviews on the ESS Tune for our platform. Are there any links or places to go to get more info? I already went to the website.

You've already got the advantage with 93 octane compared to our terrible 91. Here's one from a F10 M5, details in description:

Let me know if you want an ESS tune also and I'll get you set up.

Is that because it's one of the earliest ones on the market? Does most conservative = safest too? As SYT_Shadow said, I also don't want deal with datalogging/updates/CELs/hesitation etc

You shouldn't get any of that with ess.

What is an ESS tune -- OBDII port tune, piggyback, ECU flash? Trying to understand how it works. I look at the website and see two products, both with wiring harnesses.

Simply read your file (OBD2) with the provided cable/software and it gets sent to ESS for tuning. Once your tune is received, flash and you're set. Couldn't be easier.

You can flash back to stock if needed as well as read/clear diagnostic codes.

I have the bm3 stage 2 flash. Car feels great especially top end. When I data logged I was peaking at 21.6psi. I know there is more aggressive tunes. I feel this 1 is mild which is what I wanted. Not to push limits.

I did the cold start delete so the car doesn't wake the whole neighborhood. Speed limiter removed. Comes with the software to scan for codes. Remove Cel for downpipes.

I have the tune for about 8k miles with no issues at all. I'm very happy with the results. I've beaten fbo m4's and some tuned E63S and cls63s.

I have BM3 and Ive only used it to flash out the cold start so far as I’m still deciding what time to go for. But my understanding is that if you use one of the OTS tunes then there should be no need for data logging, CEL lights or anything untoward. If you request a custom tune then yes you may need to do that. But that’s as you’d expect anyway. It seems the best of both worlds with BM3. But this is subject to the OTS maps being good, which I’ve heard they are but not tested first hand yet. I’d only be looking for the stage 1 map myself.

I had an ESS tune in my M6GC, and i ended up getting a stage 2 tune and catless downpipes from Evolve - very happy with my decision. I had the option to go ESS but just couldn't find any decent information on power, or reviews by consumers. Evolve seemed to have a lot of information, and it seems as though it was a bit more aggressive which is what i was looking for, whilst having a good reputation for reliability.

Customer service from Evolve throughout the process was excellent too.
