I realize it will cost more and probably not give the same types of gains, but I am waiting for the Dinan tune. I spoke with them today, release for M6 will be "early spring" You can also then sell the tune later or the car with the tune at a premium...Fully warrantied, no issues...I like that

You need full control over fueling /timing to safely do 650whp and up even with supporting mods . Just trying to keep your expectations realistic . You can make a dyno read anything you want though like ECU tuning group so ....
That run was with carbon delete and catless downpipes and rear exhaust and 2 psi more boost than stage 1 .....
So 630whp is the most your going to get on pump gas

Well Dinan is not out yet, ecu tuning group would void my warranty, and BMS is the best option at the moment. I might consider Manhart later on...
630 whp is still 724.5 hp crank (considering 15% RWD drivetrain loss), not bad for now.
Any advice or some brilliant experience you would like to share Mr. Gmd2003?

With downpipes I realize my car has more than adequate power. Not going to tune.. too risky

BMS is not a chip tune, you don't change anything in original BMW's ECU. Basically BMS is a plug in and play; Should give a better fuel economy too.

I'll review it once I install.

Just that BMS is the best option available , Manhart, Switzer all use piggybacks to get 700 crank hp ( they just overcharge for it ) . I just wanted you to have realistic expectations about results . No need to be sarcastic . Just trying to help out someone who has less technical knowledge .

There was actually a MAHA dyno that indicated 19% drive train losses, making the whp numbers that much more impressive.

On the one hand that's hard to believe, but on the other hand it's hard to argue with the MAHA.

Piggyback (plug and play) setups are scary.
Regardless how many cars are running them, being able to "manipulate" a few sensors operating range is not a safe manner to increase performance on these late model cars. There is just too much going on with these systems to be able to push your car to the max with having peace of mind that all the engine management functions can respond correctly when need be.
But they are being made and people are running them. I would wait for a proper performance engine re-mapped file from a respectable tuner.

I just installed the GT Haus full exhaust system including catless downpipes. With just the exhaust system this M6 put down 549HP and 499FTLB to the wheels on a Mustang Dynameter.
The charcoal filters are removed now and I have a custom engine tune being made by OE Tuning which is based out of Southern California.
I will post up information on performance gains and lots of pictures in a new post within the next 2-3 weeks once its all finished and running great.

Did you get a CEL with catless? Will OE tuning keep your warranty?
For sure post pics and videos

While I agree full ECU control is best , I'm starting to think no one will crack this ECU . OE tuning has been selling the same modified development file as everyone else . If you want proof ask them to remove the speed limiter and prevent a CEL from running catless and see what they say .

Schnitzer offers to move up the limit to 310km/hr

That's the same speed as the European only M drivers pack option . They obviously got hold of it .

I know that all software tuners are battling the same issue.
This vehicle is going to their main facility for testing.
That's what the hopes are for.
I already have their performance tune which turned this car into another BEAST !! Having the "Check Engine" light off would be great too.
I have no had a dyno run after their tune yet, still waiting on software to be error free.

This ecu tuning group says that they offer a module to remove and add tune at anytime? So warranty shouldn't be a issue.

It's a piggyback that tricks the TMap sensor like BMS , except I'm pretty sure they will charge you more than 400 bucks for it lol .

Right now I'm waiting for AMS catted downpipes, and Akrapovic exhaust to come, looking forward to install, and hopefully Dinan will make their ECU tune soon.
How did the AMS catted downpipes work out for you?

it's ok, but tbh all you need is a BMS tune (to get over 600whp) and an exhaust (akrapovic, meisterschaft, eisenmann) just for the sound.

I have the Dinan Exhaust but it is still pretty mild. Have you gotten any error codes from the downpipes?
