LED DRL Yellowing?
Lately I've been noticing on my driver's side headlight that the outer DRL has a more yellow color to it on the left half when looking at the light.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something to do with the diode itself or the DRL module? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks!

I can see what your saying the color temp is different say from 5000k down to 3500k , Never noticed it on mine , but I never really examined it , I will check it out to see.
I have my car coded Via Carly mod I think I bumped up the brightness on my DRLs , I’m not sure if that can help your problem , maybe pull the negative off your battery for 10mins to help reset the modules , don’t forget if you pull the neg off the batt you will have to reset the time manually to get it back to normal the on screen computer will let you know |

On the DRL brightness note, I would like to bump them up but for some reason when I try to access the 'Front Light Electronics Right' module, it's unable to read the module whereas the 'Front Light Electronics Left' module is read just fine. Because I can't adjust the right side module to match the adjustable left side, I've left it how it is. If you have any insight as to why this may be happening, I would appreciate that also. Let me know if you find out anything on your car. I'm sure the DRL's are the same across pre-LCI and LCI cars

Bump to see if anyone else has some advice
Car will be in getting a front respray and XPEL film in 2 weeks so the headlights will be most accessible with the front bumper and hood and fenders already off. I'd like to take advantage of this time to troubleshoot this issue. I'm thinking that the problem lies within the DRL module in the headlight, whether its as simple as re-seating the connector (doubtful) or putting in a new module (~$125). If a new module is put in, does it need to go to BMW to be coded to the car or is it plug and play? Any help or guidance is appreciated!

I'm not 100% sure but from my experience LED's tend to change colors prior to dying out. I've had this issue on 3 of my Mercedes S550 door handles which coincidently wasn't covered under their CPO warranty... I would sent Vito a message from ZWorks to see if he has any prior experience with this.

Do you know if the Angel Eye's LED module might have anything to do with this yellowing or is it simply the LED itself dying?

The angel eye has LEDs on the inside and outside. The LED module of Angel Eye can be replaced without removing the headlight. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ght/1VnYXtcbo5 |

The cause is deterioration of LEDs.
Replace LED module Or Change LED chips |

Do you have part number(s) for the drivers side headlight? The LED's circled in the photos are the diodes for the angel eyes? Just trying to wrap my head around this and understand what needs to take place to solve my issue

I just noticed in a picture I just took recently that driver side was a little off, I hope it was just the picture. I haven't noticed it in person, but I haven't gotten the chance to really examine them either. They have been running at 100% at all times since I got BimmerCode a few months ago...hope that isn't the cause.

Great info, maron, as the outside driver's-side LED on mine (2016) has yellowed. If changing this simple module, while the light is still installed no less, is all there is to it, then it will be done asap. It's making my OCD go through the roof.

Once you remove the LED module, you should check the status of the LED. It may also be due to the fiber. |
