Trickle Charger Question
Hi all
I have had my car on charge for a few weeks, I have noticed that after a few days the charger stops charging and I get a battery drain message. Could this be a battery issue do you think ? Thanks |

I have my car hooked up to the exact same trickle charger (Noco Genius 5). What do you mean by 'it stops charging after a few days'? Do you mean the solid green light is replaced by the error (!) light? Do you have access to a battery tester to check the health of the battery?

I mean that despite the charger being on for several days, it will stop charging the battery, the status goes from goes from flashing green (condition mode) right back down to flashing red indicating a low battery charge backed up by a low voltage dashboard warning. Could be faulty battery of charger I guess

I had that same issue happen when I connected that charger to my X5. It turned out that battery was pretty badly sulfated and the error was happening because the battery was unable to hold a charge. If that is happening I would be very concerned about the health of your battery and have that checked out using a battery tester to measure the voltage and CCA first. It could be a faulty charger too of course but make sure you rule out the battery health first
