Mustang GT350

Going to talk to a local dealer about getting one. Opinions about it?

I'd buy one in a heart, in fact I was going to buy but I recently found out we are not getting them down here!

Have to buy a new 5 series now.

I would be cautious about those first model year FPC motors. Its a first for Ford development and has many challenges associated wtih it.

I am considering it also but will test drive before ordering. I may wait a bit for the hype to settle and then order one if it's good. So far it looks like a damn good deal! M2 and P are options as well.

The gt350 is going to be such a great car. No way would I buy a m2 over it. I would get a gt350, but I personally not a fan of the looks.

I thought I read there was only going to be 100 GT350 and GT 350R Mustangs made this year? Good luck and get ready to pay probably $90k+! But I'm sure they'll be some dealers (very few) letting the car go for MSRP.

But I would never pay over MSRP for anything. I'll wait to buy the same thing next year.

doubt 90k that is GT4 and 911 territory but they may try. The competition will keep the price in check, I think. Not many folks would pay 70k for Stang even if it has a jet engine in it.

There will not be any 2015's for sale. With under 140 made for this model year, they all went to Employees, family, and dealers with strong history. If you found one for sale (if) it wouldn't be MSRP, so get that idea out of your head. You will not find a 350/R for sale for sticker, until the 2016 model year.

And dealers are probably not going to allow test drives for quite a while. As odd as it sounds there are folks who buy cars without even driving them.

One cool thing about this car is it should hold value well. Pretty sure Boss 302's are selling for near what they were bought for.

The 2000 Cobra R's all sold for over their already over-inflated MSRP.

The problem with these is if they start getting too inflated over MSRP, you are into Z06 territory, a car that will easily embarrass a GT350R. I'm interested in seeing both the GT350 and 350R pitted against the Z28, though I have a feeling the GT350R will be faster.

Yes, will be curious to see how it does against the Z28. On paper, it should a bit quicker but the Z28 does remarkably well for its weight. The Z28 has a lot of tire, what are the tire specs on the 350R?

Yes, the Z06 will destroy them both for at least a few laps until it overheats.

Just saw that the engine specs came out today. 526 hp / 429 ft lbs

The tires on the R are 305 ZR30 19's in the front.... 315's in the back.

You'd be surprised.

This thing will have mark ups on dealer lots, and people will scoop this thing up.

This is a whole different animal than anything Porsche makes. Not sure how many of these things Ford plans on pumping out, but if it's a limited production model, this has collector's car potential written all over it. Flat plane crank NA V8 that revs to 8,250 RPM's. The FPC gives it an absolutely intoxicating sound:

Dealers will be able move this thing easy.

Limited production for 2015 (100 GT350 and 37 GT350R). However, they are really launching the 2015 at the end of production year anyway. They will be rolling right into 2016 and that is not set to be as limited.

Wait six months after the MY16 GT350/Rs roll out to dealer floors and pick one up at MSRP. Can't think of any car for less than $70k that I'd rather have.
