Alfa Romeo 4C Spider.

This is the first new car (I could realistically afford) that has come along in years that made me say "wow". I could see picking one of these up a few years old once the wheels on my Z4M Roadster fall off.

I LOVE the look of this car, it's gorgeous. Of course, I'm not sure I could fit in it being 6'4 and 240lbs?

I also hope they come in manuals? No paddles/auto for me ever.

Nope, horrible DSG that's pretty much been berated by every review. Plus the US version is 500+ pounds heavier than the ROW model due to crash safety requirements. Get a gayman/coxster instead.

Only Alfa I'd even think about getting would be an 8c. Like someone said Cayman seems leagues better.

Darn, bummer to hear this. Boxster/Cayman does zero for me, I'd rather get another low mileage Z4M. Thanks though.

w/o doing any research I'm not believing the U.S. spec car is 500 lbs more then other markets.
If the Alfa is 2600 lbs or less that's pretty good, it it is 2500 lbs or less that's wild. Could be wrong ... I often am.

Much prefer the styling of the coupe. The 4C had potential. If it had been given a manual and high revving 6-cylinder, it would have be a huge hit. Now it just loses comparos against base non-s Caymans.

Tested weight for C&D's coupe was 2,471 with most EU tested cars right around an even 2,000 pounds. Our additional standard equipment probably explains the additional weight. Either way, 25% more weight makes for a different car.

And OP, don't drive a CS, it's a different beast than the E85/E86.

One article said those 2000 pound cars were light weight models w/o air condioning and radio. But yeah 471 pounds additional is crazy and 2016 Miata is approx 2350 pounds

Thanks, I drove a Boxster S a few years back when I was considering another car. I couldn't get back in my Z4M quick enough, so forget that car. ;D

Fair enough. I drove my E36/8 M Coupe for a dozen years, but am now debating a 997.2. I'd take a GT4 in a second if I didn't need to throw my kind in back.

nuts that this car didn't turn out so great considering how much went into it (carbon tub, weight saving materials used in hood and fenders, port/polish (I believe), lot of hand work, etc)

Funny the Cayman is the best sports car, and yet it is the worst selling Porsche. Actually it is pretty sad. Go figure!

I'd take one. Don't need a power monster to be bonkers fast on the track if balanced well and driven well. My e46 is same way.

Acutally the 4c is the fastest sub 250hp car around the ring I believe (the coupe that is). It's just as fast as the current generation cayman S with ceramic brakes according to the ring records list.
So I wouldnt call the 4c "not turned out so great".

On the one side I'd really like to have one, but on the other side I'd be really scared for damage with that carbon tub.

Exactly, the GT4 put up a 7:42 and they didn't put a cage in it, tape the seams and lord knows what else Alfa did to get an 8:04.
