I replaced the VTG (xDrive transfer case) oil today.
Pretty straightforward, but requires a good oil sucker :-) since there is no drain plug.

How many miles did you have on the car? Any signs to change it or prophylactic? What is the cost to do it yourself vs the shop or a dealer?

The car has about 100k miles.
No real issues, only a warning in ISTA/D that the oil should be changed at 150.000kms. So that what I did :-)

Used original BMW DTF1 oil. About half a litre went in.

I've not been much with the white fad, but THAT is sharp- nice job selecting constrasting parts, I like the black 'eybrows' in the lower grill, well done!

Added pic in deference to thread rules- not actual of mine, but representative of what I've been sorting last couple days
actually had to go back and delete pic..more to follow

Yes, you are correct. “Lear” is like “Kleenex”. This a Gulfstream 650, though the chances of blacking anything out are nil. I fly it, otherwise it’s hands off for me.

The 650i is still very new to me so I am slow to make any changes yet. Completely different than my other BMW’s, but am enjoying it tremendously.

I did last year when I bought my front splitter. They said they have no plans to make/supply these for the coupe. Annoying!

One of my center arm rest door buttons was beginning to peel on top.
I found this very irksome. (Sorry no before pics)
First, removed the closure cover. Then each button on the armrest fastener pops off. I did hold my breath on this, but I figured if the snap arm breaks adhesive would do.
Once buttons off, using a razor I peeled off silver layer. I opted to do both for the symmetry of the optics. Then sanded down with 180 grit. I wanted to leave it matte appearing as sheen smooth was impossible. Sprayed it with some silver metallic and softly wiped. The roughened white plastic underneath was porous like and held the silver spray. Let dry for 2 coats. I thought it came out pretty good.

Good job. I had button peeling issues on my E64 6-series too (steering wheel mostly) that I fixed with plastidip. Nowadays though I would prefer to just replace them. The center console button mechanism is 51169240213 and can be had for $75 on ebay, just fyi.
