Added Rear Spoiler to 2013 650 ix

Added rear spoiler that I got from eBay supplier (ikonmotorsports (78591)) painted for $94 and free shipping. I think it looks pretty good.

Adds a nice subtle touch... I like it.. how was the fitment?

The piece itself fits perfectly. It's tricky with the double sided tape across the top "flat" horizontal surface and the tape across the bottom vertical surface. Getting the two exactly right is challenging. My first attempt was a bust and I had to remove it, buy more tape and do it a second time. But the fit is good and color matched perfectly.

Purchased/installed a similar one off ebay..color matches, fitment was good, putting it on was a little weird (same issues as walt white) but it hasn't moved! Apologies in advance, the pic isn't great

I am planning to add it on mine too. While the price is dope, how does the quality "feel"? Before spending 600 Euro on an original one......if you know what I mean. I would get a carbon one so it will for sure be a more than what you paid. Going not original I am always afraid of getting crap quality especially on the carbon parts.

This one is plastic and very light weight but it seems very sturdy and looks like a great copy of the the original. I've heard the that BMW part is a heavy rubber that actually prevents the trunk from opening all the way. As far as carbon fiber, I don't think this supplier has that, just painted.

Got this one on Amazon for $110 a couple months ago for my convertible. They come in Black, White, and unpainted ($87).

Color match was spot on, and I am very happy with the purchase. I don't care for Carbon Fiber, and I have a Black car so this was ideal. Had my local auto body guy install it for free with some other minor work, but he said he would have charged me $25 otherwise.

Shipping took 3 days and is free with Amazon Prime.

After initially thinking I would get the original BMW solution I have heard from many that the aftermarket solutions (at least those made of real carbon) are as good and cost half the money.
Now the question arises for me whether to get the rounded option or the V variant such as this one:

https://www.mds-tuning.com/collectio...an-coupe-12-16

Considering I am also planning to get the carbon diffusor (this one for real not original BMW as there is only an M6 version), which REAR SPOILER type do you people think looks "nicer" on such a car - V Version or standard rounded one?

I know it's a matter of personal taste but any feedback / opinion is appreciated. Thanks

I prefer the v-style myself so went for that look.

Thanks. Looks nice indeed. I have been looking at many pics around the Web today and I am getting more and more attracted by the V-shape variant.

May I ask from which supplier you purchased and what your impression of the "quality" was, and is? How has it held over time (weather, and any other external agent)?

Looks like a good supplier if you people appear satisfied with the product. Unfortunately for me international shipping in this case is just too much so I will have to find some locally.
Also as mine is tansanite blue I am thinking the carbon variant would probably match better.

Asthetic question - I've got a 2015 650i GC in space gray metallic with everything blacked out except the door handles (and those will get done). I originally wanted a body color rear spoiler but I'm coming around to thinking a black spoiler would look great. I am looking at the supplier mentioned above on Amazon. They have a black sapphire metallic spoiler.

Looking for opinions on whether or not the two metallic colors would look good together.

Thanks

I think the v style could work with different colors

I personally think GLOSSY BLACK (such as the spoiler) is a very fine combination with a space grey metallic chassis. On my former space grey E92 335i I painted glossy black side mirrors cap and the contrast looked great. In general I think it matches really well at least for me and based on my former car.
