Alacantra Style Steering Wheel Wrap

hey all I gotta F06 2014 640i GC with a MSport package.

Bought this wrap off ebay, sewed it on myself...took about 4 hours cause I was taking my time.

i liked how it came out thought i would share.

also added some red paddle shifters on ebay as well..

watched some youtube vids to take off the steering wheel so I could do it in my house

So cool! Nicely done... I’m afraid my stitch work would look laughable, you did a great job!

It takes a long time, but it is not complicated.
I've never done such work and the result is near perfect.

Apparently alcantara can wear out and if that happens, the wrap can be easily replaced. Better than an actual alcantara steering wheel IMHO. The only thing is that makes the steering even thicker (i find M Sport steering wheel too thick as is).

From your pictures, it does look quite chunky! And I mean that as a highest compliment.

I did the wheel on my MINI quite a few years back. One of the best mods ever.
Will definitely consider looking into this; thanks for the pics and links!

Very nice!
I bought one, a upholstery shop wanted $4-500 to put it on! It's still in my trunk...

just keep pulling it tight when you see, if its slack it will look sloppy.

also remove the steering wheel from the car, and take all the steering wheel buttons/controls off completely so you can tuck it nicely
