What should I do? Engine done
I've had my 2015 GC for 4 months. It has 80k on the clock. First oil change metal in oil needs new engine. All kinds of ideas going through my head. Engine swaps, lighting it on fire. Any ideas or advice? I bought it from and independent dealer. Hoping they can do something but no word yet. The engine quote was 12,520. 5,000 for the engine the rest is labor.

Wow, that's bad luck. You found the metal or somebody told you it was there? Anyway, if it were me I'd probably get a lower mileage used engine. The $7k+ to install it sounds very high.

Thanks for the advice. The shop sent me a photo of the metal shavings in the oil filter cap. I'm going to take a look tomorrow before I get it towed home.

They offered 5K for a new block with heads seem like a good deal. I'm entreating swap options at this point B58.N55/LSS I'm frustrated beyond belief. The bad news is new to me and my mind is running wild at this point.

LS swap would be sweet if you can get the computers to talk to each other.

I think I would be the first for the F/6x. Any shops in the bay area want to talk give me a shout! . There isn't much info out there yet for any swaps.
