M start up on i Drive screen

I've had my 2016 M6 for 2 months now. A few days ago when I hit the button to start the car this really cool video played on the screen showing the M logo at the end. It only did it that one time and has not done it again. Only the warning message comes up. I looked through all the settings and can't find anything related to this. I would think it would display every time you start the car. My Corvette always played a cool little hype video every time.

Here is a picture of the screen I always get and a short video showing the display on an F80.

bimmercode will also code it. Mine was coded for it befoe but was not consistent. After the bimmercoding and some quiet time, it is regular.

Have a look at bimmercode.app It is simple to use and allows you to code many things without getting too geeky, but gives you access for deeper dives. I also have the other coding software on a laptop but this is handy.

just pay for the app and buy the adapter and you will be good to go. The expert mode allows you to do the more "complex" coding. You can perform a lot of the coding that you would do with the pc based packages

have a look at the "bimmercode.app" site and scroll down to OBD adapter, click on that and it will show a variety of adapters that work with the app.
I have one of the older adapters (iCAR PRO, $30) than the ones presently shown. (they were cheaper but work fine on BMWs)

Is it the free one?

I think the app was about $30 to activate. There is a demo mode that you can review before plunking down the money.

I ordered the Bluetooth adapter and bought the bimmercode app - but I do not see option for activating the M display

I removed the startup warning message - now it goes straight to the menu - doesn't even display the BMW logo like it used to

I don't see any options for this, do I need to go into expert mode?

or is possible that my car doesn't have that option? 2013 M6..

You will only see the logo when you start up the car. The timer starts when you unlock your door. Basically, once the head-unit boots up you have a certain amount of time to get the startup animations ( M Logo and Navigation Cityscape ) If you don't hop in and start the car before that , you won't see the logo. Trying locking your car and walking away for 15 minutes for everything shut down. Then come in hot, unlock the door and immediately get in and hit the ignition and start it , you should see it then. If you wait too long between unlock and engaging the ignition, you won't see it.

After reading this chat a month ago i see it everytime. Key in pocket, approach car, unlock with handle and turn on - dont even need to rush. Also get the M on the windhsield

The animation in the video above only plays when the iDrive starts from being completely switched off. Most of the time it's in stand-by mode. For example if you reset your iDrive and then restart it, you'll get this every time you do it.
