Comfort Vs Sport Setting
I recently purchased a 2015 650i GC and since I drive my pick up for work everyday my wife has been driving the car to work. Yesterday afternoon I swapped vehicles with my wife as one of the front tires had a bulge on the sidewall. Long story short, I had to buy 2 new tires - unbeknownst to me Michelin is discontinuing the Pilot Super Sport, but luckily the Pilot Sport 4S which is replacing the PSS has a similar tread pattern so the front tires mostly match the rears.
On the way home from the tire place I left hard from a couple of lights and thought that for a car that has 445 horsepower it should move with a little bit more enthusiasm. Well, at the next light I put the suspension setting on Sport and nailed it off the line - Ho Ree Fook! This thing shot off, I didn't know that the Sport setting also remapped the throttle response. I never noticed that on the 550, but that was the N63 engine. My truck is a 3/4 ton Silverado with the Duramax engine that I've tuned to put out about 525 hp and around 900 ft/lbs. torque and it really scoots, so most cars don't grab my attention, but this really did. I'm really liking this car a lot more since yesterday, once I get my M6 exhaust, front splitter, rear diffuser, and truck spoiler all installed I'll really be a happy camper with a stupid ear to ear grin.

throttle response is just simply the sensitivity of the throttle. It doesn't add power or make the car any faster.
I attribute this to the placebo. In contrast, I hate driving my M6 in anything other than comfort throttle position. It's just too jerky in daily driving.

Due to the computer increasing the revs when in Sport mode, the car IS indeed faster in Sport. In Sport mode it keeps the revs higher, which will in turn keep you in the car's power band for better acceleration. I could also feel the difference in my N63 550. My 650 "feels" more pronounced though likely due to the exhaust note
