2013 640i , my garage door opener buttons suddenly stopped working. Tried re syncing all three buttons with my two openers with no luck. Any ideas?

When you press the buttons…do you see the amber led in the mirror glass flash?

Yesterday was April Fools day…sure it wasn’t a trick being played?

Hard to imagine that one day they work and the next they don’t…if NOTHING else occurred or changed. Power loss? Unplugged?

Some GDOs have a lockout button usually found on the wall mount controller…could someone have pressed that button?

Do the original GDO remotes operate the doors? When you try to reinitialize the HOMELINK buttons in the car…did you press the LEARN button on the GDO itself? Most newer GDOs require the press of the LEARN BUTTON built into the GDO hanging from the ceiling.

Yes I’m able to code the original hand held remotes. And I’m using the learn button on the openers. I did replace the car battery a few weeks ago. That might be the cause. I did register the battery, and everything else is working perfectly. I’m wondering if there’s a way to reset the mirror buttons.

To clear the HOMELINK buttons…you press & hold buttons #1 & #3 until the light in the mirror flashes quickly. You then can reprogram the buttons.

Yeah I’ve cleared the codes and all the lights flash as they should but not connecting with the opener. I’m going to ask my neighbor if I can try connecting to his opener.

There are some good videos on YouTube that will guide you through the process. I know that there are at least two different ways of programming the buttons. One is with the Learn button on the garage door receiver, the other method is using the actual remote and holding it next to your buttons on the mirror.

I have two different garage door openers and had to use both methods to program. I realize this does not explain why yours lost the memory to begin with, but it will be able to be programmed again.

Did you change the bulbs in the GDO on garage ceiling or install any other new LED bulbs in the vicinity? Radio frequency of many or most LED bulbs used in regular light fixtures can and will interfere with RF receiver on your GDO.
Ask me how I know… with the old incandescents could open my garage door with Homelink from two houses away. Not so much now with LEDs in place in garage.

Happens to my garage door opener too. My remotes (car, keypad, remote) lose connections at various times and for unknown reasons. Not a big problem, happens maybe a couple of times a year. For some reason they just lose their connection. I reconnect them to the opener and all's fine (for a while). (On my opener, a Chamberlain) I just press the orange button, then the remote, they start talking to one another again and all good.
