Auto Headlights

Sometimes I want the headlights on when the car doesn’t think they are needed. Sometimes it’s required on certain roads. But every time I switch them on manually, I forget to turn them off! Yesterday I discovered that pushing the fog lamp button turns them on without changing the auto setting.

I don’t! But during the rain, I like them on, and, in CA if it rains enough that you have to run your wipers, you must have your headlights on. And there are certain mountain roads that require daytime headlights.

My issue is the opposite - the headlights are on way too much. There's something about the low sunlight angle this time of year that casts shadows that make the car think it's dark out and my headlights are mostly on at noon. On the rare overcast day, when it is actually darker out but the light is diffused, the headlights stay off.
